Default Carter found guilty, misses a week

Gold Coast utility Paul Carter has been found guilty of a careless high tackle by the NRL judiciary on Wednesday night, and will now miss his club's Round 9 clash with South Sydney at home.

The first-year player failed to downgrade his grade 1 careless high tackle on Wests Tigers winger David Nofoaluma in the 75th minute of their Round 8 clash and as a result will spend one week on the sidelines. He has 63 carry over points left over.

In other judiciary news, Wests Tigers centre Tim Simona will miss this weekend's Pacific Test after taking an early guilty plea for a dangerous throw charge.

Simona was cited with a Grade 2 Dangerous Throw charge for his 49th-minute effort on Aidan Sezer in the same game and has taken the early plea rather than risk missing three games, meaning he has been ruled out of appearing for Samoa this weekend.

The Test counts as one of his two matches to serve, meaning he will be available for his side's Round 10 trip to Remondis Stadium.

Canberra prop Brett White (Grade 1 Tripping on Manly's Daly Cherry-Evans) and Wests Tigers back-rower Bodene Thompson (Grade 1 Dangerous Contact – Unnecessary Use of Knee on Titan Greg Bird) have both taken the early plea and will be free to play in Round 9.

I think Carter had his best game yet on the weekend, got rid of some the silly stuff and was really impressive, and we needed it again against the rabbitohs... it is a shame he is missing.

With his style of play I don't think this will be his last suspension & I for one don't want him to change anything , I love his aggression & no matter who comes into the side in his place this weekend should know it will only be for one week as Carter walks back into this team no matter who's available

There is little to be proud of in a suspension and a lot to lose. He would benefit immensely from playing against the Sam Burger & Co and will gain nothing sitting in the stands … very disappointing.

Wouldn't mind seeing Cody Nelson get another run..thought he went pretty well. Obviously not as a hooking option but.

Carter is a big loss though. He's an animal.
