    Default 1st Round Crowds.

    Despite the excitement I feel as the season nears a start, there has been an amazing level of UNDER exposure from the NRL in regards to marketing, (especially tele ads) in the lead up to the season.

    What are your expectations for the first round of matches?

    the games;

    Wests v Dragons -Telstra Stadium
    Newcastle v Parramatta - Energy Australia Stadium
    Bulldogs v Penrith - Telstra Stadium
    Manly v Canberra - Brookvale Oval
    Warriors v Melbourne - Ericsson Stadium
    Brisbane v North Queensland - Suncorp Stadium
    South Sydney v Roosters - Telstra Stadium

    Now gazing into my famous crystall ball again I see the following;

    Wests v Dragons 35,000
    Newcastle v Parra 25,000
    Dogs v Penrith 18,000
    Manly v Canberra 15,000
    Warriors v Melbourne 9,000
    Brisbane v NQ 50,000
    Souths v Roosters 25,000

    Some factors to consider here;

    *How will the Warriors fans react - in force to say screw you or disappear with no chance of making the semis.
    *Will Souths fans get behind their team now or wait and see what is happening with the football club
    *Dogs v Penrith and Manly v Raiders are the biggest doubts in my mind they could either have massive crowds or none at all.

    The Broncos vs Cowboys will lead from the front for Round 1, games like this one dont really need to much exposure the tickets pretty much sell themselves. Im unsure about Sydney games but I would hope there is some advertising done.
