But this morning the snake, confirmed to be a harmless keelback snake, was found curled up in a men’s urinal.

The metre-long snake caused chaos for fans on Monday night as it darted towards the south-eastern stands.

Some fans tried to catch the snake, but it was too quick and disappeared somewhere in the stadium

It was the most exciting part of Monday night football and a Twitter handle — @CbusSnake — was created before half-time.

Cbus Stadium venue manager Julie Curren said cleaners found the snake in the men’s toilets this morning.

“One of our groundsmen is experienced with snake handling, he bagged the snake after it was found this morning,” she said.

“It has been released back into bushland in the Robina area.”

But who knows how long the Cbus snake will stay put in the bush, after all it has experienced the glitz and glamour of fame ...
