THE Titans took to the Broadwater for their end-of-season celebrations yesterday but “Mad” Monday on the Gold Coast was anything but.
The players hired out their own party boat from Mirage Boat Hire but a strict “no dress-ups” edict from the club meant the celebrations were kept under control.
The Gold Coast Titans, who finished their season with a thrilling one-point come-from-behind win over the Bulldogs, keep it real at the end-of-season knees up on the Broadwater
Titans players were seen soaking up the sun in the early afternoon while drinking beers on board the party boat, but there were no Mad Monday shenanigans in sight.
The club reportedly kept a tight leash on celebrations this year and provided T-shirts to players honouring the club’s departing players and staff members.
Players were also silent on social media, keeping any of the day’s antics to themselves.
The celebrations follow the Titans’ victory in their final game of the season against the Bulldogs – with the underdogs coming back from 18-0 down to win by one point.
The remarkable comeback ended a shaky season for the Titans.
The club has faced a record losing streak, declining crowd numbers and the departure of the club’s original coach, John Cartwright.
