Souths Cares Continues to Support NSWPDRL



Souths Cares Mentor, Rhys Wesser recently took part in the Cabramatta International 9’s Tournament in support of the NSW Physical Disability Rugby League Association (NSWPDRLA).

The game was a ‘rematch’ of the 2013 Grand Final in which the South Sydney Rabbitohs defeated the Manly Sea Eagles 16-4 to take the Premiership.

Rhys said the teams were cheered on by a large crowd that included family, friends and supporters.

“The game was full of energy and passion not just from the players but also the fans themselves,” said Rhys.

“I took the field as an able-bodied player, supporting the boys, and I had a lot of fun out there as well.

“Both sides, although committed and focussed on the game, demonstrated a lot of camaraderie, too.

“Souths Cares is committed to assisting our friends at the New South Wales Physical Disability Rugby League Association, to promote the game and our active and healthy lifestyle message.

“I’m happy to report to the fans that the Rabbitohs were again victorious 18-10 over Manly,” Rhys added.

“Everyone involved in the game: the players; supporters; organisers; and sponsors should be congratulated on on a job very well done.”
