Default 2014 Titans Forum Team Voting - Poll #4 - Right Centre

Poll number 4. This will be active for 3 days. Vote for who you would select for that position and comment why. This will be starting from Jersey #1 and ending with #17.

At the conclusion of all voting, the official 2014 Titans Forum Team will be formed.

Also to clarify, this is who you would select in that position for round 1 and not necessarily what you think Carty will select for round 1.

Forum Team Poll #4: Right Centre

Please select from the options above who you would select as the Titans Right Centre for 2014.

Remember, right winger still needs to be decided so keep this in mind when making your vote.

Im throwing my support behind big Ole Dave Taylor, yep you read it correctly...David Taylor.

Why you ask - Well my simple answer is...if I was a winger I would rather have him standing inside me than - Tighe, Blair, Zillman, Dowling, Michaels, Brett Delaney, Josh Graham, Atkinson & Chalky type players.

Lets face it, as it stands with the current centre hopefuls it's not looking too bright. Dave Taylor will beef up with the backline with speed, skill, size, intimidation who is a proven game breaker.

Titans have plenty of depth in the forwards to accammodate this move. It would allow management to put a Taka type player on the bench who could interchange with him.

Id actually be excited to see him at centre.

He is my man for right Centre, David "Paul Broughton Winner" Taylor

Sorry Teke, although you win the "from left field award" in the right field, I'm sticking with what Cartwright will run with and voted for Tighe and that will have us finishing 10th and the outside backs:

    1. Zillman
    2. Gordon
    3. Blair
    4. Tighe
    5. Mead

Surprise, surprise, surprise which also means that our attacking stats will be okay but we will need special dispensation from the NRL to run a couple of breakaways to help cover our defensive issues.

I don't mind Tighe and even though half his games as a centre has been on the left side he would get my vote otherwise.

Coal Train in the centres!! C'mon teke... who's he gonna throw cut-out passes to from there?!

I do see the attraction. Much like Idris, near impossible to stop 1on1. Can beat players with a strength, footwork, passing. Should be a wingers meal ticket. Is probably both fit enough and quick enough. Pretty good decision maker defensively and would add some much needed starch where the Idris shaped void exists - would definitely score tries, setup tries and put on some good hits.

But unless the style of play this season is drastically different to years gone by, Davey would be wasted in the centrs, not getting enough quality ball. Can't see him making dummy half runs which our centres and wingers do alot of. Also his defense gets a bit lazy, especially when its not front-on and he needs to move laterally slide with the line, which would only get exploited more on the edges.

Also, he is such a good player ball in hand. Why move him further away from the ball? But who knows. Could be a master stroke. Where-ever he plays, he needs to start, needs to get the ball in his hands everyother, if not every set, and needs to have support play around him.

I'll go with Taka as RC though as he had some amazing touches and showed more than enough to suggest he could be a class all round centre should he stay fit, have time to work on combinations and develop into the role. I'm surprised how underrated he is here. I don't like the idea of having him on the bench. It's better than not having him in the 17 at all - but making him a utility will imo limit his long-term development and potential in a 'jack of all trades, master of none' type situation. Plus i just don't think his game suits the bench utility role (yes he can cover many positions, but he doesn't strike me as a 'put on the big play' with limited minutes type player, and would be wasted as a mr fix-it). I'd rather see Zilly or Carter on the bench if we ditch the 2 hooker rotation tbh.

Tighe and Likiliki will hopefully be pushing - but, Taka is currently our best right centre option for mine.

Everything teke said, except Taylor should have been listed in the left centre option, where during our discussion at golf the other day, teke and DB both informed me is his preferred side.

I am taking each of these votes as the "best for that position", and I think Coal Train would be by far our most difficult and dangerous weapon in the centres.

And he gets a chance to smash Idris at some stage (if he plays left).

Gonna love seeing the comments after half a season of Tighe at right centre.

Tighe and Kelly side by side = scary in defence

Yeah Jamal saved Kelly's ass way too often.

Kelly sticks in tight with his second rower and any quick width from opposition required Jamma to shut it down.

Tighe might be quick enough to cover.

Prefer to stick with specialists in their correct positions so Tighe for me. One thing that let Panther Idris down was that any kick in behind him usually worked as Jamal turned around slower than the Queen Mary. Big DT would have the same problem.
