Those percentages are probably indicative of the NRL as a whole (if you have 'Other' instead of NT)

If you take out the ones from northern NSW then it switches back the other way. I don't think having a catchment from south of Brisbane down to Coffs is a bad thing, it's a great rugby league heartland. The Gold Coast is the closest club to where a lot of our players grew up which is good for a new club that didn't get any allowances like the Suns did

Thanks for your efforts but I would highly suggest not opening this can of worms. Never gets anywhere.

The balance isnt fair because Tweed Heads,Ballina and Mullimbimby is our catchment. Remember the border is only 25 Km from Robina.

    Lol, this guy...

Northern NSW is the part of the club's development area. It why, surprise, surprise, the club does development work and recruits from those places.

I know how close the border is but that doesn't change the fact that we're recruiting New South Welshmen who would represent NSW if they got the chance. How about some more Gold Coasters? I know the Seagulls and Bears are our feeders but we seem to be getting more from the Seagulls.

Who cares, if they are in a Titans jersey they are part of the team I support and I cheer for them all the way, but if they end up in a NSW or other jersey for rep honours I will be booing the, as hard as I can.

Its not like the old days where QLD offered alot of untapped potential, its a NRL gold rush and every club is all over the state, so we arent just competing with 2 other clubs but 15.

I would like more Queensland players but we just nee to focus on development and wait for some ideal candidates to come on the market.

As discussed in other threads, I think we should also have a Kiwi strategy to tap into the massive support there is on the coast. Get some of them having us as their 2nd team.

Yep, Planet Queensland ... without stirring up too much debate, I suggest that we need to be seen as a regional force and that includes Northern Rivers, etc ... but we seriously need a CREDIBLE local profile running the joint on and off the field.

I am already starting to get the sh*ts with State of Origin. Most of us have whinged before about the impact it has on the comp and on the weekend most articles in the papers were about the bloody two day bonding camp that some NSW players attended last week. Soon the entire NRL season will be a side act for bloody Origin. Before the bloody season starts we have Daley hijacking things about his Origin plans.
I will take my medication now and have a lie down.

Not as bad as a week's news about Idris and his surrogate daddy Gould.

So what does this mean? Does this just simply mean the Gold Coast is weak when it comes to producing local talent? It certainly looks that way. The GC have only produced one player out of the 49 Queenslanders on the Broncos' and Cowboys' lists. There are just 5 Gold Coasters playing in the NRL for the Queensland teams.

5/61 Queenslanders! That's just 8%! You have to think this means the Gold Coast is a weak local recruiting zone. This clearly explains why they have recruited so many New South Welshmen.
