AMNRL Folds
by RLSpotlight on January 13, 2014 in Global
RLS can reveal through USA contacts on what is happening with the USA rumours, whether or not there will be a merger or if AMNRL are defunct now, with one reliable contact confirming “no unification… AMNRL have folded”
Also the NY Raiders have updated their website:
“We, The Raiders, an American Rugby League Football Club, based in New York, former member in good standing of the now defunct AMNRL, today declare our neutrality from any and all self appointed, unelected, officers, officials, negotiators, organizations, agents, governing bodies or their affiliates. This decision derives from continuing inter league politics detrimental to the sport and our team. Neutrality aside, we reserve our right play and remain committed to competing in the upcoming 2014 Rugby League season. We strive for a forward thinking, transparent, inclusive governing body manned by elected members willing to produce a structured, viable business model for our sport”
At the RLWC 2013, the Tomahawks success was seen as a potential great positive effect for the game, while the truth of the domestic scene was almost fully ignored in the media spotlight apart from the usual “internationalist” journalists. Well was this part of the plans? Officially, a press release from USA should come in the next week
