RFL pulls money out of Celtic Nations!!

To all Scotland Rugby League Customers please be advised that the RFL have withdrawn their funding from across the Celtic Nations therefore with effect as of 5pm today (Friday the 15th of November 2013) there are no staff working on or behalf of Scotland Rugby League until the Rugby League International Federation make a decision on any future funding for Scotland. Forthwith all enquiries regarding Scotland Rugby League should be directed to Keith Hogg ( Chair of SRL)

The RFL had better have a damn good reason for this. Or their heads should be on pikes.

Following the decision of the RFL to withdraw funding from Scotland, Mark and Susan Senter have now left their job roles. This is obviously very disappointing. On behalf of everyone associated with rugby league in Scotland, I would like to thank Mark and Susan for all the hard work and effort that they put in on behalf of the sport in recent years. They have made a special contribution and I am sure you will join me in hoping that they will continue to be involved in rugby league in Scotland in some way in the future.

The Board of Scotland Rugby League have been as surprised by these developments as anyone. With our club representatives and our partners such as Sport Scotland we will now work out how we will structure support for Scotland Rugby League in future. This will be a very challenging task but together we can find our way through this challenge. Most importantly, we will now be arranging a number of meetings to work out how we will structure, implement and manage the 2014 season. Rugby league will continue to be supported in Scotland but obviously we can't confirm how this will happen as yet.

WTF? Generally this type of decision is enshrouded in non-disclosed information and attracts a lot of innuendo ... will watch to see what else falls out.
