    Bulldogs Launch WA Membership

The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs are pleased to announce the launch of a WA Membership with the inclusion of a Category 1 ticket for our match at nib Stadium in 2014.

The Bulldogs have had strong links with WA in the past, with former players such as Daniel Holdsworth, Luke and Bryson Goodwin, Lee Te Maari and Jon Green all spending time in the WA junior ranks.

In 2014, Bulldogs fans living in WA will for the first time be able to become a WA Member and see the Bulldogs play a home game in the West. It will be the first time the Bulldogs have played a match in Perth since 1997.

Bulldogs Chief Executive Raelene Castle is excited about the opportunities that exist in the west.

“The Club has quite a strong following in Perth and I am confident that many of them will join us as Members, with our WA Membership launched today.”
“We have a target of 20,000 Members in 2014 and a successful engagement strategy in growth markets like WA will be imperative towards us reaching our goal.”

    Fans' passion sees memberships surge

Rugby League fans have shown their excitement for the 2014 season by becoming NRL club members, with membership rates tracking close to 14 per cent ahead of last year's numbers, with the Rabbitohs storming ahead of the pack with more than 19,000 memberships signed.

The Eels have seen membership sales more than double for the same period last year, with the Warriors, Sea Eagles, Sharks and Roosters also generating significant growth.

"It has been a really exciting and positive time for the game with our fans committing to their membership ahead of the Christmas break," NRL Head of Commercial Paul Kind said.

"Rugby League's number one priority is the game's members and fans and we have been working cooperatively with our clubs to transform membership to make Rugby League members' experiences more rewarding.

"Early December we launched the game's new membership tvc, along with the implementation of telemarketing and additional resources to ensure that we can deliver additional benefits for club members in 2014.

"Clubs like the Eels and the Bulldogs have run with the campaign producing their own rivalry competition which has seen positive growth for both the clubs."

With more than 10 days left in 2013, 14 of the 16 clubs are already ahead of their January 2013 figures, with two others set to jump ahead of that limit in the next 24 hours.

Joining the membership race only three weeks ago the Dragons are also seeing positive signs for 2014.

"The Dragons have passed through 5,000 Red V Members which is very encouraging given we were only able to get our 2014 program into market , coinciding with the NRL Draw release, just over two weeks ago," Dragons COO Michael McDonald said.

"This puts us ahead in membership numbers relative to the same timeframe in 2013, and importantly almost 15 per cent are new members, joining the Red V program for the first time."

"We've provided a wide range of flexible package options for members to choose from in 2014, and the take-up of all packages has been very positive."

The full NRL Membership 'Ladder' looks this way:

    1. Rabbitohs 19,374 (up from 18,157)

    2. Broncos 13,634 (up from 11,854)

    3. Knights 12,592 (up from 11,710)

    4. Eels 10,380 (up from 4886)

    6. Storm 9121 (up from 7986)

    7. Roosters 8584 (up from 5812)

    8. Cowboys 7174 (was 8582)

    9. Sea Eagles 6590 (up from 4333)

    10. Dragons 5002 (was 9640)

    11. Warriors 4979 (up from 3202)

    12. Panthers 4837 (up from 3567)

I was always worried when they peaked in 2010 and then Bennett left and they lost a few of their names. I know the Dragons are trying to rebuild as a Sydney brand along side Souths and Canterbury.

Membership race kicks off with $400,000 prize pool

For the first time, NRL Club members will have the opportunity to decide how to spend the winnings from two club membership races, with a prize pool of $400,000.

There will be two Club Member Races based on attracting the most new members from the start of the race to the end of the race.

There will be a total prize pool of $200,000 across each race, consisting of $100,000 in cash and $100,000 in advertising grants.

In the first race, prize money will be offered to the three clubs with the greatest increase in their total membership number by Tuesday 20 May.

Race two will reward the top three clubs with the greatest percentage increase in their total membership number, during the same period.

"We are having two races to ensure that clubs with a larger membership base as well as those with smaller membership numbers can compete," NRL Head of Commercial Mr Paul Kind said.

"We thought that it was important to give our club members a say in how they would like some of their prize pool is spent.

"It’s a great way to get the members excited and hear their thoughts on investment.

"Suggestions might include a member’s party, new club facilities, charity donations and interstate travel rewards."

Signed my friend up for a Bulldogs Kennel (3 Game) Membership.

Very affordable and value for money.

Bulldogs standing at 13,201 which is probably pretty poor given their huge fanbase, competitiveness and great memberships.
