Two boys have escaped serious injury after a freak accident at a junior rugby league game on the Gold Coast.
Spectators say the cross bar came loose and hit two boys during an Under 14's game between the Helensvale Hornets and Southport Tigers today.
Club officials say the post hit one of the boys on the arm while the other was struck on the leg, and both were treated with ice for bruising.
The club says it appears to be an act of vandalism and the bolts on the cross bar may have been tampered with before the match.
