Kone Tigers receive Titans boost
The iSelect Gold Coast Titans have helped further the development of the next generation of Papua New Guinea’s Rugby League stars, with the donation of Rugby League boots to local side, Kone Tigers.
The Kone Tigers , picture above, participate in the Port Moresby Rugby League competition and are one of the most famous rugby league teams in the nation.
The Tigers have a proud history and has been home to players such as Clarrie Burke, John Kaputin, Bill O'Brien, Sean Dorney, Hugh Davis, and Dadi Mahuru Toka among others.
The Titans is home to PNG International David Mead, who made the trip home to present the Tigers players with the donated boots.
Kone Tigers spokesperson Leo Chris said the boots would be a great help to the players.
“The boys are so grateful for the donation and we are more than happy and fortunate to receive such as donation from one of the clubs from the NRL.”
“Thank you very much and we hope more donation would come our way from the Titans,” said Chris.
