Titans launch Need YOU Now campaign

Titans launch Need YOU Now campaign
    Adam Gardini | Thursday 28 February 2013

The iSelect Gold Coast Titans have tonight unveiled an exciting new club anthem as part of a fresh marketing campaign aimed at provoking a sense of pride and togetherness with the club?s fans and the Gold Coast community as a whole.

Unveiled in front of 350 fans and corporate supporters at tonight?s season launch at Jupiters Hotel & Casino, the club?s new ?Need YOU Now? campaign features an emotive and original music track written and produced by rising Queensland-based indie rock band Holland.

The ?Need YOU Now?? track and accompanying advertising campaign, which will begin airing from March 3, is supported by a montage of images highlighting the club?s community work, the Gold Coast lifestyle and the blood, sweat and tears that the players shed on and off the football field.

World Champion Gold Coast surfer and Titans 4 Tomorrow ambassador Joel Parkinson and his family feature in the campaign along with images of Titans players, the club?s fans, children, cheerleaders and fellow T4T ambassadors Preston Campbell and Clinton Toopi.

In a spine tingling performance at tonight?s season launch, Holland performed the song live for the very first time as the iSelect Titans? class of 2013 was introduced on stage to officially mark the start of the season.

The ?Need YOU Now?? music track will be available for download through iTunes in the coming weeks, with all proceeds made from the track to be donated back to the club?s Titans 4 Tomorrow community programs.

iSelect Titans Chief Executive Officer David May said the ?Need YOU Now?? campaign was designed to showcase what the Titans means to the Gold Coast.

?The aim of this campaign is to capture all the great things that this club stands for and the pride we all feel being a part of the Gold Coast community,?? said May.

?The emphasis in the title of the campaign is on the word ?YOU?? communicating to individual fans that they can feel part of the team and can make a difference by being proud and passionate supporters of this club.

?The Titans have a proud reputation for meaningful community work and on top of that we have endeavoured to make attending Titans matches in 2013 the most affordable it has ever been for Gold Coast families so we wanted to showcase these messages in an all-encompassing campaign.

?We commissioned Holland to write and produce an emotive track to accompany this campaign and we believe that they have done an outstanding job.??

The ?Need YOU Now?? track was written and produced by Jarryd Klapper and Shano from Holland, a four-piece indie rock band who are signed by Sony Music, and on the verge of a major label album release.

Got a members email about this and had a listen. I reckon it's pretty good and as it goes for just under three minutes I will be interested how they edit it down for tv commercials etc.
I was thinking before just how the Titans are a bit behind the eight ball when it comes to marketing up here. For example I am originally from Sydney and still buy the Telegraph as it has a better sports section. I only get the Bulletin rarely as it is a rag. I know many up here that do the same. I guess what I am saying is that the circulation of the Bulletin is not what it could be which must effect the Titans ability to get their stories and promotion across. I think the same applies to the local Gold Coast news on tv - many people don't watch as any big story will be in the 6pm news anyway.
But I digress - the song and campaign is good in my opinion. But nothing gets people to games like winning.

I can't fault it, even made me feel all warm 'n fuzzy.

Well done to all the supporters that made it that early morning. The effort was well worth it.

Wow, that is a fantastic ad. I can't heap enough praise on the people involve and those fans who participated so early in the morning.

It was very professional and the song was fantastic. I love how it focused on the fans but also away from the footy park. Loved seeing the beach, Preston, face paint, the supporters. It has soul. And that is what I want from my club. This one isn't corny it is timeless.

I even, kinda, got in it. Towards the end where the Away Legion feature, you can see my flag that is obscuring me. We are at Melbourne.

I think the club should keep track of who volunteers for these types of things and photo shoots and nurture a Titans volunteer core. Recognise them at the end of the year with a thank you letter signed by the CEO, captain and coach. And maybe some type of gift.

Yep. The NRL promo kind of washed over me. It's ok. But this is far better. I don't give out wraps easy, but I love the video and song.

Also loved seeing so many fresh faces out there representing the Titans supporter base.

That's true and all the more reason to nurture Titans online communities and official social media. We can share it around throughout the year and year ahead. I just hope someone at the club puts it on youtube.

it reminds me of what the titans were about when we began..we managed to lose our way for a minute, but this just another sign that we are re discovering our soul and heading in the right direction.

I didn't even get to halfway before i wanted to turn it off. I only sat through it because after reading the above posts I assumed it would build into some sort of anthem that would inspire me to want to be part of something....

It's great if you are missing your girlfriend/boyfriend and sitting at home feeling lonely, but hardly a driving NRL anthem that makes me feel remotely interested in the sport or the Titans. Take away the visuals and it's just another cheesy love song that you wouldn't want to listen to.

Sorry, but it does nothing for me.

I really loved it. I felt that there was a real " Quality " to the Ad. I really like the Professionalism that David May is bringing to our club.

Well it's certainly never supposed to be the anthem that we are all looking for.

    But I still love it.
