The Fiji national rugby league team has received a boost ahead of next year?s Rugby League World Cup, with the country?s national airline, Air Pacific, signing a one-year sponsorship deal.

The deal between the airline and the Fiji National Rugby League (FNRL) is worth just under US$20,000 to Fiji Bati, one of 14 teams competing in the 2013 Rugby League World Cup, hosted by England, Wales, France and Ireland and which kicks off on 26th October 2013.

?Our starting F$35,000 deal will assist the team?s travelling, administration and other expenses before and during the 2013 World Cup campaign,? confirmed Air Pacific regional general manager Josaia Rayawa.

FNRL chairman Peni Musunamasi said: "We are happy that this sponsorship has come in such opportune time as we prepare for the World Cup. We were partners with Air Pacific during the 2008 Rugby League World Cup and we are glad that they are back in time for the next World Cup.?
