The club is still expected to chase a high-profile big-money halfback in the future, but Sezer is clearly favoured to fill the five-eighth position long term after he pleased last season. He may be called on to play halfback while coach John Cartwright experiments with pairings next year.

It's a monumental rise for Sezer, who came to the Titans from the Bulldogs at the end of 2011 after he was forced to undergo a knee reconstruction which sidelined him for six months. Sezer was dealt another blow when Cartwright opted to start him in the Queensland Cup, but pushed his way through to the halves.

He rapidly became Prince's preference to play alongside.

It's believed Sezer was enticed by the long-term suitability the contract offered.

The departure of Prince and some lower-level players will free up space in the salary cap and the Titans are expected to look at high-profile halves Mitchell Pearce and Johnathan Thurston, who are off-contract at the end of next season. While the club is yet to actively chase the pair, they haven't ruled out doing so either.
