Listened to it on ABC radio and it sounded like the Titans performance was very scratchy despite the win...after watching it on TV I thought it was pretty good performance against a team that was not far off scoring a stack of points. Our scrambling defence was terrific particularly Greg Bird and Zillman. I was particularly impressed we scored some late points and like so many teams have done to us in the past two years. We stayed in the battle and came home strong!
There is much to gain and much to learn from this performance and hopefully with a good recovery (fingers and toes crossed for Srama) that we are pumped and ready for the Broncos.
We have the short turn around and of course the Broncos have their usual Friday night match therefore have the advantage recovery-wise.
Glad we weren't playing the Broncos on Friday night with this performance. We will need to be better on Friday night!
I don't know where to start with this game, except to say i cannot remember so many hot and cold/rocks and diamond performances within 1 team.
Panthers forgot how to score in the first half, should have been going to the sheds with a tied scoreline, except Panthers were abysmal! If the sound was turned down I would have sworn the ref had stopped the game at several points when they were 10 metres out from our line.
I took Titans at 13+ but I think we were lucky for most of the game and flattered ourselves late. Don't get too excited on this win, but a win is a win.
We need to be much better in 5 days.
In my opinion making Myes and Bird co-captains is an absolute master-stroke! There is a never-say die attitude building in this team and our defence stats show this...what is particularly impressive to me it's not just that we are only leaking on average under 10 points a game but we are bruising sides with our defence.
Falloon definitely did take it up another notch or two this week. It's good to know we got him up our sleeve, if in case Srama is out for a period of time..
Considering how it looked on paper. Our left side did stand up better than expected. Bring on the Donkey's, lookin' forward to seeing us holding them outside of the Top 8.
P.S. Better pad those forearms up a little more for this one, Princey.
