    Default Gloves in Rugby League?

Bit of chatter about using player gloves in Rugby League.

I'm not for it, I think fundamental ball handling is a corner stone of our game.

Not a fan at all...the less clothes, guards, strapping and padding on the field the better.
If you can't hold the ball...go play another sport
If your soft...go play another sport.
If you want your kid to toughen himself up in a team environment, within safe rules...play rugby league

The game should be able to play whether or not you have money..buy a pair of boots and run onto the field.
If you start adding things like gloves...they'll start adding pads and helmets and changing the rules to suit.

    Agree with Chaos.

Also it's a good thing to be able to force a mistake.

Don't even think about it, it's not like a Goal Keeper playing in 2 foot of snow in Europe ....

Rugby League is about skill and errors. It's the nature of the beast.

Remember some players wore gloves during Super League. Julian O'Neill is one player that wore them, playing for the Perth Reds.

Gloves would look so hot on our players. So would muscle shirts instead of jerseys and skin tight lycra's for shorts. We could also make them wax their bodies, get spray on tans and style their hair with peroxide and gel. Then we could ban heavy contact all together and make it "two hand touch", and when players make a mistake they get to have a second chance and try again.

They wear different type of gloves in the European Super League.

So does my wife but that doesn't make it right. The only benefit would be that it would add a couple of years on to Mark Minichiello's career although I like Ryan's ideas a lot.

my point was that the gloves in the Super League doesn't necessarily result in better ball control like the gloves being talked about here.

Thank god we banned Power Bands. Such an unfair advantage.
