    Titans contracted Sam Stephenson started at left centre for PBC SHS in the 2023 School Boy Rugby League Langer Cup Grand Final against Ipswich SHS with Sam Stephenson making a line break inside the opening two minutes of the Grand Final when from ten metres inside his own territory Sam Stephenson broke a tackle and surged down the left touchline to get to thirty metres from the try line.

    Sam Stephenson also made a good run in the 10th minute from the left of a PBC SHS scrum win to get the ball out to twenty metres from his own try line after taking possession of the ball just six metres out. Then in the 38th minute Sam Stephenson made nineteen metres down the left channel to get to within eight metres of the try line. Sam Stephenson made more metres down the left channel in the 52nd minute to carry the ball from ten metres inside his own territory to seven metres inside Ipswich SHS territory.

    Titans contracted Nelson Makaafi started at right second row for PBC SHS in the 2023 School Boy Rugby League Walters Cup Grand Final against Wavell SHS with Nelson Makaafi being the best player on the field as PBC SHS won the Grand Final 12 – 8.

    Nelson Makaafi made his initial run of the match in the 3rd minute from the right of the play the ball from eighteen metres from the try line to within five metres, then in the 14th minute from the right of the dummy half once gain Nelson Makaafi was able to promote the ball from thirty two metres from the try line to eleven metres out.

    From the right of the play the ball in the 22nd minute Nelson Makaafi made a strong yardage carry to get the ball from twelve metres from his own try line to twenty six metres out. The 33rd minute then saw Nelson Makaafi carry the ball through the centre of the field to within nine metres of the try line from the right of the play the ball with Nelson Makaafi initially taking possession of the ball twenty eight metres out.

    From the right of the play the ball in the 37th minute Nelson Makaafi charged onto the ball from thirty metres from his own try line to four metres of the halfway mark then to round out an exceptionally Grand Final performance Nelson Makaafi made twenty metres down the right channel from eighteen metres from his own try line to thirty eight metres out.

    Nelson Makaafi did well in the 25th minute to chase through a PBC SHS attacking grubber kick into the in-goal to affect a tackle on the fullback to force a Wavell SHS goal line drop-out.

    Titans contracted Zane Harrison started at halfback and captain for PBC SHS in the 2023 School Boy Rugby League Langer Cup Grand Final against Ipswich SHS with Zane Harrison kicking two outstanding conversions, the first coming from the left touchline in the 32nd minute to convert Creedence Donovan’s try in the left corner and the second from the right touchline in the 48th minute to convert Sunny Kama’s second try of the Grand Final.

    Zane Harrison also forced an Ipswich SHS goal line drop-out in the 46th minute when from the left of the play the ball Zane Harrison put a right foot grubber kick into the in-goal area from around ten metres out with the Ipswich SHS defender forced to knock the ball over the dead ball line.

    In the 4th minute of the Grand Final, from the right of the play the ball Zane Harrison made a stepping and darting run down a short right blindside to get within four metres of the try line after Zane Harrison took possession of the ball twenty metres out.

    Creedence Donovan started on the left wing for PBC SHS in the 2023 School Boy Rugby League Langer Cup Grand Final against Ipswich SHS with Creedence Donovan scoring in the 32nd minute when after running the ball down a short left blindside from twelve metres out Bailey McConnell was able to get partway through the defensive line before throwing a right arm pass to his left and after the ball was knocked into the in-goal by an Ipswich SHS defender PBC SHS left winger Creedence Donovan was there to dive on the ball to score in the corner to get PCB SHS back into the match.

    Creedence Donovan also made a line break in the 28th minute when after running out of dummy half to his right when thirty metres out from his own try line, Creedence Donovan was able to get on the outside of the Ipswich SHS left side defence and make a line break down the right touchline and get the ball five metres into Ipswich SHS territory.

    Creedence Donovan did exceptionally well in the 43rd minute when after taking a PBC SHS bomb towards his wing on the full around four metres from the try line on the last tackle, Creedence Donovan immediately put in a right foot grubber kick into the in-goal from four metres out, Creedence Donovan was awarded a penalty for being interfered with as he attempt to chase his own kick with the Ipswich SHS player involved being sent to the sin bin for ten minutes.

    The 4th minute saw Creedence Donovan take an Ipswich SHS long clearing kick on the full thirty metres out from his own try line with Creedence Donovan then making a kick-off return that saw him return the ball to the halfway mark.

    Creedence Donovan made an impressive try saving tackle in the 9th minute on the Ipswich SHS right centre who had broken away down the touchline but Creedence Donovan came across field to take the centre over the left touchline around two metres from the try line.

    Titans contracted Sunny Kama started on the right wing for PBC SHS in the 2023 School Boy Rugby League Langer Cup Grand Final against Ipswich SHS with Sunny Kama scoring two key second half tries to propel PBC SHS in a come from behind 16 – 12 Grand Final victory.

    Sunny Kama scored the first of his two tries in the 38th minute when after receiving a pass from his left from Ray Puru when six metres out and on the right touchline, Sunny Kama was initially able to “freeze” his opposing winger before stepping off his right foot to get on his inside and get the ball down five metres in from the right corner post.

    Sunny Kama completed his Grand Final double in the 48th minute with an acrobatic diving effort after a six metre run to score in the right corner.

    Sunny Kama’s initial impact on the Grand Final came inside the opening minute with a carry from the right of the play the ball from eighteen metres out from his own try line to within eight metres of the halfway mark. Then in the 14th minute from the left of the play the ball Sunny Kama made twelve metres from his own twenty eight metre mark to the forty metre mark.

    The 46th minute then saw Sunny Kama run the ball from a PBC SHS penalty restart to get from thirty metres out from his own try line to forty six metres out. Then in the 52nd minute from a PBC SHS twenty metre restart Sunny Kama ran to his right and was able to make thirteen metres out from the thirty three metre mark.

    Sunny Kama produced one of the plays of the Grand Final in the 55th minute when with Ipswich SHS chasing the game they put a kick into the in-goal behind Sunny Kama, but after turning a chasing the ball back into the in-goal under heavy pressure, Sunny Kama was able to slide on his knees to take the ball cleanly in the in-goal and keep his body shape low as the Ipswich SHS chasers going straight over the top of him. Sunny Kama then smartly rose to his feet and carry the ball thirty metre downfield.

    Titans contracted Ray Puru also started from the bench in the 2023 School Boy Rugby League Langer Cup Grand Final against Ipswich SHS and after coming onto the field to operate at fullback in the 21st minute Ray Puru turned the match in its head with a scintillating performance.

    Ray Puru incredible second half included a try assist in the 38th minute when after receiving the ball down a short right blindside six metres from the try line Ray Puru double pumped a pass to his right to Sunny Kama who stepped inside his opposing winger to score in the right corner.

    Ray Puru also recorded a line break in the 37th minute when Ray Puru came forward off his own try line to take an Ipswich SHS grubber kick on the fly ten metres from his own try line and burst past two Ipswich SHS chasers with Ray Puru running downfield to get the ball twelve metres inside Ipswich SHS territory.

    Earlier in the 23rd minute Ray Puru ran the ball from a PBC SHS penalty tap restart to get the ball to the thirty two metre mark. Then after taking an Ipswich SHS kick on the full ten metres out from his own try line Ray Puru ran the ball to his left to get the ball out to the twenty six metre mark.

    The 46th minute saw Rya Puru ran onto the ball to the right of the dummy half and get to within ten metres of the try line after initiating his run thirty one metres out. Also in the 50th minute from the left of the play the ball Ray Puru carried the ball from his own twenty metre mark to within five metres of the halfway mark.

    Ray Puru rounded out an outstanding match in the 44th minute with a run from ten metres inside his own territory to ten metres into Ipswich SHs territory from the left of the play the ball once again.

    After missing a number of HDC matches through both injury and playing in the Queensland Cup Jaylan De Groot returned to the Tweed Heads Seagulls Hastings Deering’s Colts side (minus the head gear) at right centre in Round Fourteen against the Northern Pride with Jaylen De Groot celebrated his return by scoring a first half double in a big Seagulls victory.

    Jaylan De Groot scored his opening try in the 10th minute with a comfortable ten metre run to put the ball down ten metres in from the right corner post after running onto a good ball from his inside from Reico Ratana.

    Jaylan De Groot completed his double in the 18th minute with a ninety metre intercept to score untouched under the posts.

    Jaylan De Groot came close to recording a hat trick only to be held up over the try line ten metres in from the right corner post after a ten metre running effort.

    Then in the 22nd minute after picking up a lost ball by the Northern Pride twenty seven metres out from his own try line, Jaylan De Groot raced down the right touchline to the thirty five metre mark at the opposite end of the field.

    Earlier in just the 2nd minute of the match from the left of the play the ball Jaylan De Groot was able to carry the ball from his own forty metre mark to six metres into Northern Pride territory. Then in the 56th minute after running onto the ball to the right of the play the ball Jaylan De Groot carried the ball from his own thirty four metre mark to the halfway mark.

    In the 71st minute once again from the right of the play the ball Jaylan De Groot was able to get away down the right touchline to get within ten metres of the try line after commencing his run twenty six metres out.

    Impressively Jaylan De Groot finished the match with 190 running metres and four tackle breaks.

    In 2023 Edward Kara moved over to the Gold Coast and Edward Kara was a late addition to the Tweed Heads Seagulls 2023 U16 Cyril Connell Cup squad with Edward Kara named on the Seagulls extended bench for Round Two (the Seagulls had a Round One bye) against the Brisbane Tigers.

    2023 was not the first occasion that Edward Kara had made a representative side with Edward Kara named in the 2019 Te Mahurehure Maori Tamariki Rugby League U12 side. Also in 2017 Edward Kara was named in the Te Mahurehure Tamariki U10 Ten’s Rugby League side.

    2023 saw Edward Kara start the season as part of the Tweed Heads Seagulls U16 Cyril Connell Cup squad before transitioning to club and school boy rugby league on the Gold Coast.

    Edward Kara also played Oztag in 2023 with Edward Kara named in the 2023 Queensland Schools Oztag Year Ten Boys All Stars School Merit Team.

    After missing a number of HDC matches whilst playing for the Burleigh Bears GCRL First Grade side Tuvalli Khan-Pereira returned to the Bears HDC side starting on the right wing in Round Fourteen against the Wynnum Manly Seagulls with Tuvalli Khan-Pereira scoring in the 78th minute when after receiving an off-load from his inside eight metres out Tuvalli Khan-Pereira used a left arm fend to separate himself from one defender to score three metres in from the right corner post.

    Round One of the 2023 School Boy Renouf Cup competition saw Denzel Silby start on the wing in Round One for Keebra Park SHS against Wavell SHS. Denzel Silby also started on the wing for Round Two against Ipswich SHS as well as in Round Three against Marsden SHS.

    Denzel Silby then moved to the bench for Round Four against Redcliffe SHS with Denzel Silby scoring a great solo try in the 33rd minute when after receiving the ball to the left of the play the ball around thirty three metres from the try line, Denzel Silby exploded through the Redcliffe SHS defensive line and just kept going to score nine metres to the left of the uprights.

    Denzel Silby then started at lock in Round Five against Wavell SHS before moving to five eight in the Round Seven Gold Coast School Boy derby against PBC SHS.

    Denzel Silby also played Oztag in 2023 with Denzel Silby named in the 2023 Super Series Queensland Rebels U14 Representative squad. Denzel Silby was also named in the 2023 Queensland Schools Oztag Year Eight All Stars School Merit Team.
