    The 2022 GBJRL U13 Division One Grand Final saw Iraia Hakaraia-Ngamoutu start in the second row for Logan Brothers in their 26 – 14 Grand Final victory against the Redcliffe Dolphins.

    Over the course of the 2022 GBJRL U13 Division One competition Iraia Hakaraia-Ngamoutu scored an impressive hat trick in the Elimination Final against Norths Juniors. Iraia Hakaraia-Ngamoutu scored doubles in the Elimination Final against the Souths Magpies and Round Eleven against Carina as well as scoring in Round Seven against the Waterford Demons.

    GBJRL U13 Division One centre Aileono Mikaio had an outstanding 2022 season with Logan Brothers finishing as the GBJRL U13 Division One competition’s second leading try scorer with seventeen tries.

    Aileono Mikaio started in the centres through the GBJRL U13 Division One competition’s Finals series including starting in the centres in Logan Brothers 26 – 14 Grand Final victory against the Redcliffe Dolphins.

    Aileono Mikaio scored an impressive four tries in Round Eleven against Carina and scored hat tricks in Round Eight against Albany Creek and Round Twelve against Redlands. Aileono Mikaio also scored doubles in Round Nine against Aspley and Round Fourteen against Norths.

    Aileono Mikaio also scored against Norths in Round Three, Waterford in Round Seven and Redcliffe in Round Ten.

    2022 also saw Aileono Mikaio convert one of his own tries in Round Twelve against Redlands.

    GBJRL U13 Division One centre Jhaleel Paraone had an outstanding 2022 season with the Waterford Demons finishing as the GBJRL U13 Division One competition’s leading try scorer with nineteen tries.

    Jhaleel Paraone scored a staggering five tries in Round One against the Souths Magpies. Jhaleel Paraone then scored four tires in Round Thirteen against Redlands and a hat trick in the rescheduled Round Six match against Carina.

    Jhaleel Paraone scored a double in Round Three against Albany Creek and also scored in Round Two against Burpengary, Round Nine against Norths, Round Ten against the Easts Tigers, Round Twelve against Wests Arana Hills and Round Fourteen against Albany Creek.

    Logan Brothers centre Lewis Gardner was a strong performer in the 2022 GBJRL U14 Division One competition, proving to be a try scorer of note.

    In the 2022 GBJRL U14 Division One competition scored hat tricks in Round Three and Six against Redlands and Aspley respectively and scored doubles in Round Thirteen against Aspley and Round Fourteen against Easts.

    Lewis Gardner also scored in Rounds Two and Seven against Easts, Round Eleven against the Redcliffe Dolphins and the semi-final against Souths.

    Powerful Souths second rower Tyrese Herniman had a big 2022 season in the GBJRL U14 Division One competition, finishing the season with four doubles with those doubles coming in Round Seven against Aspley, Round Eight against Easts, the rescheduled Round Six match against Norths and the Elimination Final against Redlands.

    Tyrese Herniman also scored In Round Two and Three against Redcliffe, Round Eleven against Wynnum Manly and Fourteen against Aspley.

    Tyrese Herniman also played rugby for Souths in the GBJRU U14 competition, playing in the front row and was named in the Brisbane Junior Rugby U14 Representative Train-on squad.

    Post the 2022 Queensland Samoa Championships, Mason Barber was named in the Queensland Samoa U16 representative side to play in the 2022 QPICC Carnival with Mason Barber starting Round One of the QPICC Carnival at fullback against the Cook Islands.

    Mason Barber also started at fullback in all of Samoa’s other matches including their 26 – 0 Grand Final victory against PNG with Mason Barber scoring in Round Three against PNG and the semi-final against Maori.

    Mason Barber had a particularly strong semi-final match against Queensland Maori including scoring in the 17th minute when from eight metres out and to the right of the play the ball Mason Barber surged onto the ball and crashed through three attempted tackles to score mid-way between the goal posts and corner post on the right side of the field.

    Mason Barber also made a line break assist in the 3rd minute when from deep inside his own territory Mason Barber took the defrnsive line on before throwing a good short ball to his left to put Nayte Saaga away on a forty metre run.

    In September 2022 Chance De Thierry was named in the South Queensland Māori U14 Tuakana representative squad starting Round One of the QPICC Carnival in the front row against Queensland Tonga with Chance De Thierry scoring in the 7th minute when from twelve metres out and to the right of the play the ball, Chance De Thierry charged onto the ball, breaking two tackles before executing a great dive from three metres out to slam the ball down with his right arm to score four metres to the right of the uprights.

    Chance De Thierry also scored in Round Two against Samoa and Maori’s Grand Final victory against Queensland PNG.

    Chance De Thierry also had a strong semi-final against Samoa including a 3rd minute line break when after charging onto the ball to the left of the play the ball, Chance De Thierry, from forty five metres out burst straight through the centre of the defensive line and rumbled to within eighteen metres of the try line before being brought down in front of the goal posts.

    Chance De Thierry made a further line break in the 21st minute when to the right of the play the ball and thirty five metres out, Chance De Thierry charged over the top of one defender and made twenty metres downfield before the ball was knocked from his grasp from behind.

    Just a minute earlier Chance De Thierry made a great charge from the kick-off to the second half.

    Great to see the Titans U14 Academy Programs kicking off with plenty of talented young players starting their journey towards the NRL in Brisbane, Gold Coast and Group One and Group 18.

    Powerhouse young front rower D'Angelo Mikaele was part of the U14 NZ Maori side that defeated Samoa in the U14 Pasifika Youth Grand Final.

    2022 also saw D'Angelo Mikaele named in the Auckland U14 side.
