Great to see young Keebra Park outside back Xavier Tauaifaiga named in the Tweed Heads 2022 U16 Cyril Connell Cup side.

A couple of years ago Lama Afu moved up from Victoria to attend Keebra Park and he has made the most of the opportunity including making the Queensland Rugby U15 squad and recently he was named in the Tweed Heads 2022 U16 Cyril Connell Cup squad.

Burleigh five eight Joey Sankey scored a double for Burleigh Maroon in their GCRL U15 Division One Grand Final victory and in 2022 the left sided younger will be part of the Burleigh U16 Cyril Connell Cup squad.

Another young former Victorian who is making his mark for Keebra Park is giant front rower Isopo Taunuu who next year will line up for the Tweed Heads Seagulls U16 Cyril Connell Cup side.

Talented Beaudesert Kingfishers back Thor Barnes has been selected in the Tweed Heads Seagulls 2022 U16 Cyril Connell Cup squad after an outstanding 2021 season in the GCRL U15 Division Two competition including a Player of the Match performance in the Grand Final against the Jimboomba Thunder.

PBC Walters Cup winger Jacob Morton has been named in the 2022 Burleigh U16 Cyril Connell Cup squad.

Jacob Morton was one of PBC's try scorers in their 2021 Walters Cup Grand Final victory over Keebra Park.

The Burleigh 2022 Cyril Connell Cup squad has some impressive second rowers in the squad and as good as any of them is Titans contracted Jac Finnigan.

Titans contracted strike centre Sunny Kama who had an outstanding season for Burleigh Maroon in the GCRL U15 Division One competition including in their Grand Final victory against Burleigh White was recently named in the Burleigh 2022 Cyril Connell Cup squad.

It will be interesting to see where Titans contracted Sam Stephenson will play for Burleigh's U16 Cyril Connell Cup side in 2022. For the Burleigh White U15 Division One side and PBC this season he has played fullback, right centre and five eight and in previous seasons was a dominant left second rower as well.

If Burleigh's 2022 U16 Cyril Connell Cup opponents kick chase efforts are not perfect then they will be in a lot of trouble as Titans contracted fullback Ray Puru will cut them to pieces with his speed and elusiveness which was on display on multiple occasions in 2021 in the school boy Walters Cup with PBC.

Having a smart and effective dummy half is a prerequisite for success for any team in the current environment and the 2022 Tweed Heads Seagulls U16 Cyril Connell Cup squad have a very good one in their squad in PBC's Ayden Byrnes.
