Titans contracted Arama Hau is certainly not known as a goal kicker but yesterday for Nerang in their 42-12 victory Helensvale, Arama Hau struck his left foot conversion sweetly late in the match.

Yes the conversion was from in front of the posts, but the big powerful young man connected with the ball well.

Jordan Lewis has played multiple positions for the Ormeau U18 Division One side this season and on the weekend he started at halfback in Round Thirteen against the Burleigh Bears.

Jordan Lewis was the Shearers hero in the match, kicking a thirty five metre penalty goal from just to the left of the uprights after the final siren to win the match 22 – 20. Earlier in the 58th minute Jordan Lewis had kicked a key conversion to lock the scores up at 20 all.

Jordan Lewis also recorded a try assist in the match when in the 45th minute he ran to his right ten metres from the line and threw an inside pass to his right centre who scored under the posts. Jordan Lewis then stepped up to convert the try.

Jordan Lewis also made a line break in the 49th minute when he ran out of dummy half less than a metre from his own line, getting the ball to thirty metres away from the try line.

Jordan Lewis also produced a smart piece of play in the 55th minute with a one on one strip as Burleigh were bringing the ball away from their own line. Jordan Lewis stripped the ball twelve metres from the line and was able to get within two metres. Ormeau scored two tackles later to lock the scores up at twenty all.

Titans contracted Jeremaiah Temapo started on the right wing for Nerang on the weekend in Round Thirteen of the GCRL U18 Division One competition against the Helensvale Hornets with Jeremaiah Temapo scoring twice in Nerang’s 42 – 12 victory.

Jeremaiah Temapo scored in just the 3rd minute when he took a ninety metre intercept and was able to outpace the Helensvale cover defence to slide over in the left corner.

Jeremaiah Temapo completed his double in the 30th minute with a simple effort. From deep inside their own territory Nerang attacked down the right side of the field and after they had broken through the ball was spun to the Roosters left with Jeremaiah Temapo receiving a pass and was able to jog over to score ten metres in from the left corner post.

Regardless of his two tries, Jeremaiah Temapo had an outstanding match overall including a strong kick return in the 7th minute when after taking a Helensvale kick on his own forty metre mark, Jeremaiah Temapo was able to return the ball twenty metres to forty metres out.

Jeremaiah Temapo made another strong kick return just two minutes later in the 9th minute, making in excess of ten metres before being brought down and then was awarded a penalty when the referee adjudged that Jeremaiah Temapo was stripped of the ball illegally.

The 2021 Walters Cup season for Titans contracted Zane Harrison:

In 2021 Zane Harrison continued at PBC as part of the school’s Elite Rugby League Program and made a strong impression, showcasing multiple skills from halfback for the PBC Walters Cup side in their Round One 16 all draw against Ipswich State High School.

Zane Harrison put in an assured display for PBC starting off with an exquisite tactical kick in the opening minute of the match with Zane Harrison executing the kick fifty five metres out from the line from an acute angle with the ball going into touch just eight metres out from the line.

Zane Harrison’s elite footwork was at the fore in the 36th minute, when after receiving an off-load from Jac Finnigan, he made a stepping run that made twenty metres as he stepped on multiple occasions to his left.

Zane Harrison also started at halfback in Round Two against Forest Lake State High School and he was once again at his scheming best in PBC’s victory including being heavily involved in PBC’s try in the 41st minute when he laid on a good ball to put right second rower Jac Finnigan into a gap, with Jac Finnigan then off-loading to put his centre over in the right corner.

Zane Harrison continued at halfback in Round Three against Coombabah State High School, scoring a double in PBC’s impressive victory. Zane Harrison’s opening try came in the 17th minute when he flew into an off-load from his lock to score untouched next to the right upright.

Zane Harrison’s second try came in the 44th minute when Ray Puru collected the ball ten metres from his own try line and ran to his right and literally ran around the Coombabah SHS left side defence, racing seventy five metres down the right touchline before drawing the fullback and passing to his left to Zane Harrison who raced away to score under the posts.

Zane Harrison also recorded a try assist in the 8th minute when he floated across the field to his right twenty metres out, dummying to an inside runner to hold the defensive line in place and then he threw a long cut out pass to his right to put his right centre in space and over in the right corner.

Zane Harrison was also heavily involved in another PBC try in the 47th minute, when Will Saunders darted out of dummy half down a short right blindside ten metres from the line, drawing a defender before getting the ball away to Zane Harrison who threw an out the back pass to Ray Puru who put his right winger in the corner.

Zane Harrison also had an outstanding match from halfback in Round Four against Marsden State High School including scoring in the 36th minute with a winding effort. Zane Harrison received the ball eighteen metres from the line on the right side of the field, dummying in that direction before straightening up. Zane Harrison was tripped up as he broke through the line, but quickly bounced to his feet to dive over close to the right upright.

The 24th minute saw Zane Harrison’s kicking game come to the fore when from twenty metres out, he put up a high kick to the right corner with the ball coming down less than a metre from the line with the PBC defence then forcing the Marsden SHS winger back into the in-goal to force a line drop out. Then to highlight that Zane Harrison can execute all types of kicks, he converted PBC’s second try from the right touchline to seal the match.

Zane Harrison continued at halfback in Round Five against Keebra Park SHS and one was of PBC’s best in their tough loss recording a try assist in the 28th minute with a pin point cross field kick to the right corner for his winger to race through to take the ball on the full and score wide out on the right.

Zane Harrison continued at halfback in Round Six against Redcliffe State High School with the cerebral halfback having a very good match including recording a try assist in the 55th minute when he put in an attacking grubber kick that hooker Will Saunders dived on the ball under the posts with the referee consequently blowing the whistle to award the try.

Zane Harrison also started at halfback in the final round after the Covid 19 lockdown, recording a try assist for PBC’s opening try in their voctory over Wavell State High School. Zane Harrison could not have made his opening contribution to the match any earlier, being involved in the opening tackle of the match after PBC had kicked off.

Zane Harrison recorded his try assist in the 15th minte when whilst operating on the right side of the field, he threw a great short ball to put Jac Finnigan through a gap twenty five metres out and get the ball down five metres in from the right corner post.

Zane Harrison almost had another try assist in the 27th minute when he put up a mid-field bomb that Wavell SHS let bounce and PBC fullback Ray Puru had raced through to retrieve the ball but was tackled just short of the line.

Zane Harrison also started at halfback in PBC’s semi-final victory over Wavell State High School and produced a great try assist to wrap the match up for PBC.

In the 42nd minute Zane Harrison, from ten metres out, threw a great cut-out pass after double pumping to his left to put his left winger into space and able to score comfortably in the left corner.

Zane Harrison also had a 33rd minute try assist when he put right second rower Jac Finnigan through a gap from ten metres out to score on the right side of the field, mid-way between the corner post and goal posts.

The 2021 Walters Cup Grand Final against Keebra Park SHS saw Zane Harrison named to start at halfback with Zane Harrison directly PBC SHS around the field well in their 30 – 12 Grand Final victory.

Zane Harrison showed plenty of enthusiasm in the match, including in the 17th minute when he chased back to field a Keebra Park attacking kick in his own in-goal with multiple Keebra Park attackers charging through.

The 2021 Walters Cup season for Titans contracted Ray Puru:

In 2021 Ray Puru continued at PBC as part of the school’s Elite Rugby League Program and made an impressive start from fullback for the PBC Walters Cup side in their Round One 16 all draw against Ipswich State High School.

Ray Puru contributed a try assist to PBC’s cause in the 9th minute when he chimed into the PBC backline on the right side of the field, holding the ball until the last minute before throwing a flat cut-out ball to put his right winger over in the corner.

It was clear that Ray Puru stood a class apart in the match as early as the 3rd minute with his initial kick return of the match. Ray Puru tracked the ball to collect it in the right corner and moving to his left getting on the outside of two Ipswich SHS chasers to make twenty metres.

Ray Puru also started at fullback in Round Two against Forest Lake State High School and he was once again at his electric best contributing a try assist and two line breaks to PBC’s cause in their 28 – 6 victory.

Ray Puru’s try assist came in the 24th minute when after receiving an off-load from Jonah Beaven, Ray Puru drew the Forest Lake SHS right winger to send his left centre on an uninterrupted thirty five metre run to the try line.

Ray Puru made his first line break of the match in just the 2nd minute when he retrieved a Forest Lake SHS clearing kick, moving to his left before bursting down the left touchline making twenty four metres before being tackled and after his attempt at a quick play the ball was stifled he was awarded a penalty.

Ray Puru recorded another line break in the 35th minute when he ran the ball from a PBC scrum win on the left beating three defenders in a twenty metre run but just as he was being tackled the ball unfortunately came loose.

Ray Puru also started at fullback in Round Three against Coombabah State High School, recording two a try assists. Ray Puru recorded his first try assist in the 44th minute when he collected the ball ten metres from his own try line and ran to his right and literally ran around the Coombabah SHS left side defence, racing seventy five metres down the right touchline before drawing the fullback and passing to his left to Zane Harrison who raced away to score under the posts.

Ray Puru recorded his second try assist in the 47th minute, when Will Saunders darted out of dummy half down a short right blindside ten metres from the line, drawing a defender before getting the ball away to Zane Harrison who threw an out the back pass to Ray Puru who put his right winger in the corner.

Ray Puru also had a very solid match from fullback in Round Four against Marsden State High School and was also solid in Round Five against Keebra Park SHS after once again starting at fullback.

Ray Puru was at his dominating best from fullback in Round Six against Redcliffe State High School scoring a first half hat trick with the three tries coming in a six minute burst. Literally Ray Puru wreaked havoc every time that he touched the ball.

Ray Puru scored his opening try in the 19th minute after receiving the ball on the left side of the field, twenty two metres from the line and was simply too quick, easily slicing through the Redcliffe right sided defence to score five metres in from the left corner.

Ray Puru added his second try in the 22nd minute with the try once again coming on the left side of the field. After he received the ball nineteen metres from the line, Ray Puru cut off his left foot to beat one defender and then cut back inside to beat a second before carrying a third defender over the line to get the ball down five metres in from the left corner post.

Ray Puru competed his hat trick in the 25th minute, and this time he scored on the right side of the field after he received the ball twenty five metres out. After receiving the ball, Ray Puru ran to his right beating one defender with a left arm fend and from there Ray Puru outpaced the Redcliffe cover defence to score in the right corner.

Ray Puru also started at fullback (although he played some left wing in the second half) in the final round after the Covid 19 loackdown was lifted against Wavell State High School, scoring twice as PBC qualified for the final.

Ray Puru’s opening try came in the 38th minute when he crossed in the left corner after some good work on his inside. Ray Puru completed his double in the 45th minute when he found space down the left touchline, initially receiving the ball just inside his own territory. When Ray Puru came to the Wavell SHS winger who had dropped back, Ray Puru chipped over the top and after the ball had take a wicked bounce, Ray Puru retrieved the ball and rached out to get the ball down mid-way between the corner post and goal posts on the left side of the field.

Ray Puru almost scored another try in the match when he chased through a mid-field bomb that was put up by Zane Harrison. The Wavell SHS fullback let the ball bounce and Ray Puru raced through to regather the ball but was eventually tackled ten metres out from the try line.

Ray Puru also started at fullback in PBC’s semi-final victory over Wavell State High School and produced a great solo try for PBC.

In the 35th minute Ray Puru flew onto an off-load around the halfway mark, immediately cutting towards the left wing. Ray Puru was chased by the Wavell SHS fullback who got to Ray Puru just short of the line. Ray Puru however was not held and immediately got to his feet and dive over to score three metres in from the left corner post.

Ray Puru had made an earlier line break in the 11th minute when from a kick return, he ran to his left making twenty metres down the left touchline before being rounded up.

Whilst Ray Puru was outstanding running the ball, he was also solid defensively including in the 46th minute with the game still on the line, Ray Puru was involved in holding up the Wavell SHS fullback.

The 2021 Walters Cup Grand Final against Keebra Park SHS saw Ray Puru named to start on the right wing scoring twice in the first half as PBC won the Grand Final 30 – 12. Whilst he started the match on the right wing, Ray Puru moved to fullback for portions in the second half of the Grand Final.

Ray Puru scored his first try of the Grand Final in the 9th minute when he was on the end of a PBC backline movement from a scrum win inside the Keebra park SHS twenty metre area with Ray Puru diving over in the right corner untouched.

Ray Puru’s second try was a great individual effort in the 21st minute. Ray Puru received the ball whilst stationary around twelve metres from the line, right on the touchline. Ray Puru darted inside a fraction before exploding down the right touchline, reaching out to get the ball down with his right arm in the right corner under heavy pressure from the Keebra Park SHS cover defence.

On Saturday afternoon Burleigh’s Damon Somerville continued at left centre in Round Fourteen of the Colts competition against the Northern Pride setting up one try and making a long line break.

In the 12th minute Damon Somerville ran the ball down the left side of the field after a Burleigh scrum win, getting on the outside of his opposite number before drawing the Northern Pride right winger to put Tony Francis over in the left corner.

Damon Somerville almost set up another Burleigh try in the 29th minute when after making a break down the left touchline he kicked back inside before going into touch but the ball just went dead in goal before the Burleigh chasers could get to it.

Damon Somerville’s line break came in the 38th minute.
