    After a Covid 19 interrupted U18 NRRRL Round Nine, Stevie O’Çonnor wore the No. 14 jersey once again in Round Ten on Sunday for the Tweed Coast Raiders against the Byron Bay Devils but once again started at fullback scoring in the 20th minute when he ran the ball down a short left blindside from twelve metres out. Stevie O’Connor shaped to pass to his left before taking the line on and he was subsequently able to get the ball down in the left corner.

    Stevie O’Connor also kicked two conversions in the Raiders impressive victory over Byron Bay.

    Recently Titans contracted Jayden Wright continued at right second row on the weekend for Currumbin in Round Nine of the GCRL U18 Division One competition against the Nerang Roosters and scored a double in the Eagles impressive victory.

    On the weekend Titans contracted Troy Duckett scored in the 3rd minute from the right wing for Tweed Heads in the Round Eleven Colts local derby against the Burleigh Bears with the try being a brilliant solo effort. Troy Duckett received the ball on the ball forty metres from the line with limited space in front of him. Troy Duckett then took the defensive line on, chipping over his opposing defender and then regathering the ball and he was then able to dive over in the right corner to record a spectacular try.

    After Murwillumbah’s U18 NRRRL Round Nine match against the Tweed Coast Raiders was postponed, Titans contracted Riley Lack was back at five eight for Round Ten against the Cudgen Hornets on Sunday.

    Riley Lack was in the match in the first minute when he put up a huge bomb sixty metres out from the line and after bouncing once that ball amazingly hit the cross bar and then bounced into the in-goal with Cudgen subsequently trapped there and was forced to drop the ball out to restart the match.

    Riley Lack also produced another kick in the match that had a positive impact for the Mustangs when in the 45th minute he pu in a chip kick from twenty metres out that Cudgen’s Reef Sommervile was forced to take over the dead ball line.

    Riley lack came very close to scoring in the first half of the match after a slicing run to his left but unfortunately the ball was knocked out of his grasp just as he was crossing the line. Also Riley Lack showcased his speed in the first half when he chased Cudgen’s Jett Forbes down field after the Hornets right centre took an intercept twenty metres from his own line and took off but Riley Lack rounded him up still twenty metres from the try line.

    Titans contracted Vaka Sikahele started at hooker for Burleigh in the Round Eleven Hastings Deerings Colts local derby against the Tweed Heads Seagulls on Saturday afternoon and scored a double with his tries coming in the 16th and 55th minutes.

    In the 16th minute Vaka Sikahele moved into dummy half seven metres from the line and then drated to his right before stepping back to his left to beat the Seagulls marker before crashing through two more defenders who had stationed themselves on the try line.

    Vaka Sikahele scored his second try in the 59th minute when once again he darted out of dummy half to his right, on this occasion from 32 metres out. After getting around the markers Vaka Sikahele cut back to his left to the area behind the play the ball and then was easily outpace the Seagulls defence to score under the post.

    Over the weekend Titans contracted Arama Hau also continued at five eight for Nerang in Round Nine of the GCRL U18 Division One competition against the Currumbin Eagles and scored a double in Nerang’s hard fought loss.

    The last night Arama Hau was outstanding at lock for Keebra Park in Round Four of the Langer Cup against St Mary's College Toowoomba.

    Titans contracted Burleigh Colt Isaac Matalavea-Booth continued his run of starts in the Round Eleven local derby against the Tweed Heads Seagulls on Saturday with Isaac Matalavea-Booth scoring in the 78th minutes of Burleigh’s 38 – 22 loss.

    Isaac Matalavea-Booth received the ball from the dummy half to the right of the play the ball twenty two metres from the line and initially shaped to pass to his right before cutting of his right foot and then shrugged off one defender to get through the Seagulls line before also pushing off the Seagulls fullback to score next to the left upright.

    Titans contracted Jack Cullen made his Hastings Deering’s Colts debut for the Tweed Heads Seagulls in Round Eleven of the 2021 competition against the Burleigh Bears on Saturday afternoon and made the most of his debut scoring in the 70th minute of the Seagulls impressive 38 – 22 victory when from three matres out Jack Cullen forced his way over next to the left upright.

    Jack Cullen was also the catalyst of a Tweed Heads try in the 37th minute James Torrens was the beneficiary of some great initial work from Jack Cullen who produced a great one arm off-load for Tweed Heads to break the line inside Tweed Heads territory.

    Round Nine against Southport on Saturday afternoon saw Titans contracted Seth Nikotemo start at left second row for Runaway Bay in the GCRL U18 Division One competition with the hard running second rower scoring a double for the Seagulls in their 40 – 30 victory.

    Seth Nikotmo scored his opening try in the 14th minute he ran into space twenty metres from the line. Seth Nikotemo pushed off the Southport right winger who had tried to come off his wing and then Seth Nikotemo ran straight over the Tigers lock to get the ball down five metres in from the left corner post.

    Seth Nikotemo then scored in the 52nd minute when he ran a straight hard line from eight metres out, forcing his way over ten metres from the left upright. Seth Nikotemo initially was hit by the Southport defence three metres from the line and in fact backed his way from there and then twisted to get the ball down.

    DeÓntae Perese dropped back to the bench last night for Keebra Park in Round Four of the Langer Cup against St Mary’s College Toowoomba playing in the right centre position when he came on.

    De’Ontae Perese made the most of his opportunities in the match scoring one try and coming close to a second.

    De’Ontae Perese’s try came in the 38th minute when from twelve metres out De’Ontae Perese darted out of dummy half down a short right blindside and was simply too quick for the St Mary’s defence to crash over ten metres in from the right corner.

    As noted above De’Ontae Perese almost scored another try when he chased through a short grubber kick with the referee adjudging that he did not get the ball down cleanly.

    De’Ontae Perese also produced a smart piece of play in the 50th minute with a great one on one strip deep inside his own territory from a St Mary’s scrum win.

    Last night for Keebra Park Connor Te Kani continued at halfback in Round Four of the Langer Cup against St Mary’s College Toowoomba recoding a number of try assists in Keebra Park’s big victory.

    Connor Te Kani’s initial try assist came in just the second minute of the match when he held the ball up before putting left centre Taniela Lotaki into a gap with the powerhouse centre charging over from six metres out.

    Connor Te Kani’s second try assist came in the 21st minute when Delahia Wigmore charged over from ten metres out off a Connor Te Kani pass on the left side of the field.

    Connor Te Kani added a further try assist in the 55th minute when Seth Nikotemo charged onto a Connor Te Kani pass down the right channel, holding off a number of defenders to score ten metres in from the right corner post.

    Connor Te Kani also forced a St Mary’s goal line drop out in just the second minute of the match when he took the ball to the line before grubbering into the in-goal to force the drop out restart.

    Keebra Park NZ recruit Taniela Mapusua-Lotaki started at left centre last night in Round Four of the Langer Cup against St Mary’s College Toowoomba, a match in which Taniela Mapusua-Lotaki was comfortably the best player on the field including scoring an impressive double.

    Taniela Mapusua-Lotaki’s opening try came in just the second minute of the match when he charged into a gap from six metres out off a Connor Te Kani pass.

    Taniela Mapusua-Lotaki scored his second try in the 39th minute as a result of another strong charge down the left channel with Taniela Mapusua-Lotaki bursting through the St Mary’s defensive line ten metres out to get the ball down twelve metres in from the left corner post.

    The 7th minute also saw Taniela Mapusua-Lotaki make himself a handful for the St Mary’s right sided defence with a twenty metre burst down the left channel.

    PBC and Titans contracted Reef Sommerville last night for PBC started at left centre in the Round Four Langer Cup blockbuster against Marsden State High School with Reef Sommerville scoring in just the second minute of the match after Thomas Weaver ran the ball to the line before at the last moment putting in a deft right foot grubber kick which sat up perfectly for Reef Sommerville to retrieve and dive over in the left corner.

    Reef Sommerville also produced an outstanding ball and all try saving tackle in the 21st minute when he was able to stop dead the Marsden SHS right centre less than a metre from the try line.

    The in the 50th minute when after receiving the ball mid-field twenty metres out and to the right of the play the ball, Thomas Weaver kicked back towards the left corner with the Marsden right winger knocking the ball on under pressure from Reef Sommerville.
