Another outstanding talent who will line up for the Gold Coast U13 Invitational Barbarians side in the Kings of Country Rugby Tournament that starts this morning is Tawa-Dean Simpkins.

The young man is certainly an allrounder, playing rugby, touch and netball and will spend time for the Barbarians at No. 8 or openside flanker No.7.

Great win by the Tweed Heads Seagulls MM Cup side against Souths Logan to remain undefeated and also the win guaranteed the Seagulls a Finals berth.

Good to see Titan Brock Priestley back for his first MM Cup match of the season after injury with the Ormeau Shearers junior also scoring in the win.

For a young man who is still U18 eligible and playing his first ever game of rugby league he was outstanding on the right wing, including one great burst down the touchline and right arm offload inside that almost led to a try in the first half.

Also early in the second half he made a bullocking run of 20 metres from a hit-up when he broke three tackles to get the ball 15m in Souths Logan territory.

Impressive debut to say the least.

Yeah I think based on yesterdays game he's certainly a cut above, and that includes compared to players a few years older than him that have been in our system for a while. It would not surprise me if he played ISC this year and I'm sure that is the intention within the club as well. Very impressive athlete.
