A fascinating name that popped up in the MM Cup Round One team lists was New Zealand forward Hiraka Wanakore who has been named to start at lock in the Western Mustangs MM Cup side for their match on the Gold Coast this weekend against Tweed Heads.
In 2018 the powerful front rower or lock played for the Central Vipers in the New Zealand National U17 Championships and finished with a 50% strike rate from four matches.
Hiraka Wanakore scored on Day One against the South Island Scorpions and on Day Three against the Northern Swords.
