The Titans boys in the 2019 U16 Viking squad include:

    Bailey Martin – lock
    Brock Priestley – centre
    Brody Smitka – front row
    Caleb Gould-Waiariki – hooker
    Ezra Ubaldino – centre
    Flynn Daniel – second row
    Kaden Somerville – hooker
    Kaleb Ngamanu – centre/wing

The majority of these young men were involved in the Titans U15 sides 16-10 victory over Balmain.

In the match Bailey Martin was named as the Titans best forward with his outstanding defence and tough running, Kaleb Ngamanu scored the Titans first try and was involved in fullback Rowan Mansfield’s second half try and Kaden Somerville was outstanding starting at hooker.

When Caleb Gould Waiariki came on mid-way through the first half in the dummy half role his first run he made 20 metres or so from dummy half splitting the Tigers defence right through the centre of the ruck and Flynn Daniel performed well starting in the right second row position (Ryan Foran started on the left).

Starting in the front row Brody Smitka paired with Northern NSW youngster Jack Cullen adding some starch in defence.

There is certainly a couple of talented players named in the Northern Rivers Titans U18 side for the 2019 Laurie Daley Cup competition.

In addition the likes of Titans linked Ethan Foster (centre/second row), Jonah Whitlam-Rose (hooker) and Kuyan Roberts-Laurie (second row) there are a number of others to keep an eye on come 2019.

Outside backs, Khye Baker, Caleb Kinna, Zak Lateo, Jahvis Kendall and Rocco Partridge are talented try scorers and will have halves Tyrelle Roberts and Joel Antonelli leading them around the field from the half back position. Tyrelle Roberts scored an outstanding try for the Group One U16 side that went down by two points against a Western Mustangs U16 side in a match played prior to the Titans against Balmain U15 clash a week or two ago.

The Northern Rivers Titans U18 side contains a number of outstanding backrowers including Parker Bryant, Cooper Many, Simon Pratt, Jayden Martens and Joshua Stothard and powerful front rower Carl Lolohea will be hard for other sides to stop when he gets up to full steam.

A few of these young players are sure to force their way into Titans Development Squad calculations.

The Titans affiliated Western Mustangs are holding their MM Cup and Hastings Deering’s U20 Colts open trials tomorrow and whilst both sides had tough seasons in 2018 certainly had some talent in the squads such as Titans linked Luke Maiden, Connor Williams and Lesley Hartvigsen amongst others.
