Former Norths Sydney SG Ball half Tyrese Walker boosted his try scoring strike rate to 67% last weekend, scoring for Burleigh in their U19 22 all draw against Ormeau.

In the U18 SG Ball competition for Norths Sydney earlier this season he played at half but since his move to the Gold Coast has spent a lot of time in the centres for the Bears.

In just his third U19 match former Titans Development Squad hooker Matt Cannings scored his first try in that grade for Runaway Bay as they went down 22-16 to Bilambil.

In addition to his three U19 matches, Matt Cannings has played in eight U17 Division One matches this season.

Jordan Tauali'I has been doing well for the Tweed Heads Seagulls U17 Div One side starting 7 matches in the front row scoring in Round One against Bilambil and in the latest round being Round 8 in their 22-10 win over Mudgeeraba.

Has been coming off the bench for the PBC Open rugby league side and was very good in the most recent Langer Cup match against Marsden at Waterford.

At the start of the season started three matches in the front row in the Laurie Daley Cup for Northern Rivers and in Round Two had a huge running battle with Lewis Cooper from the North Coast with some monster collisions.

Seems a lot more mobile this year mate and as a consequence is hitting the line harder than ever with increased stamina.

Very interesting to see Rhian Stowers come off the bench for Ormeau in their 28 all draw against Burleigh in Round 12 of the GCRL U19 competition last weekend.

The weekend prior he was starring for Queensland I in the Australian Schools Rugby Championships and has been a stand out for the Bond University Colts I side playing at half back where he played for Queensland Schools I side as well.

I feared that he had been lost to rugby league but with just his second U19 appearance last weekend where he also kicked a goal maybe not for the talented former Titans Rookie Squad member.
