In just his second Queensland Cup match 19 year old Titans Rookie Squad member Kai O’Donnell continues to prove that he belongs.

Playing 33 minutes the second rower ran for 63 metres, 21 post contact in the process of making a line break and three tackle breaks in addition to scoring his first try at this level.

Defensively Kai O’Donnell has been even more impressive. In Round 17 he made 15 tackles with no missed tackles to maintain his 100% tackling efficiency through his opening two matches. He has now made an impressive 32 tackles with no misses to date.

As was noted in the game thread Moeaki Fotuaika was the stand out for the Titans in their match in Round 17 on the weekend against the Broncos. While he certainly was it is his exponential development since his debut eight rounds ago that is the story for me.

In Round 17 against the Broncos he played a career high 61 minutes running for 104 metres, 44 of those post contact (career high) and also made a career high 41 tackles at a tackling efficiency of 95.35%. He also had an offload and tackle break to cap an outstanding match.

In his eight matches this season, Moeaki Fotuaika has run for 587 metres at an average of 73.4 metres with 39% of those metres being made post contact and seven tackle breaks.

Defensively he has made 138 tackles at an absolutely outstanding tackling efficiency of 94.3%, the best for NRL front rowers this season.

All of the focus has been on the Broncos young forwards and to a degree Moeaki Fotuaika has flown under the radar as a result, but that will not last too much longer if he continues to play like he has this season, and he is just 18!

Supporters understandably argue team selections but the selection in Round Nine of Moeaki Fotuaika for his NRL debut against the Canberra Raiders will go down as one of the best that Gareth Brennan will ever make.

Good article about Titans contracted Ediq Ambrosyev prior to his appearance with the Queensland U16 side this Sunday.

Kyogle second rower Jack Kuhnell scored his 10th try in just 8 games for the Turkeys in their U15 Group One loss 26-16 to South Grafton last weekend in Round 11. He has made every post a winner since moving down from the Sunshine Coast.

The former Tullawong student started the 2018 year in the Sunshine Coast Junior Rugby League U15 competition playing for Caboolture. He played two games for them including scoring an impressive four tries in Round One against Stanley River. On May 9 of this year he received a clearance to move to the Group One competition, playing for the Kyogle Turkeys.

In his first match for Kyogle, Jack Kuhnell celebrated his debut by scoring against Clarence Coast. In his next three matches he scored doubles which came against Lismore Marist Brothers, Ballina when he was up against Titans contracted Rowan Mansfield and against Casino RSM.

In Round Eight Jack Kuhnell scored once again against Ballina. Immediately after that match, Jack Kuhnell backed up to play in the U16.5 clash, his first in that age group since his move south. Round Nine saw Jack Kuhnell cross the line this time in a 16 – 10 win over Clarence Coast.

Jack Kuhnell has had some Queensland representative success prior to his move to Northern New South Wales, including representing Sunshine Coast in the U15 QSSRL Championships and in 2017 also represented the Sunshine Coast at the U14 level including scoring a try and kicking a conversion on Day One of the U14 Championships.

The former NSW U12 representative has been tearing up the U13 competition scoring a staggering 37 tries from just ten matches including scoring five tries in a match on four separate occasions.
