17 year old Pita-Will Purcell started at five eight for Burleigh and kicked two goals for Burleigh in Round Seven of the U17 Division One competition as they defeated Tweed Heads 28-0 he then kicked four goals off the bench for the U19 Burleigh side.

Talented young Helensvale U19 centre Braden Amundsen scored a hat trick in Round Seven last weekend as his Hornets side went down 36-30 to Bilambil in Round Ten.
The winger has now scored eight tries in nine matches and is a deserved call up to the Burleigh Bears Hastings Deering’s Colts side for this weekend’s local derby where he has been named on an extended bench in what would be his debut match in the Colts competition if he makes the final 17.

PBC student and Bilambil U17 Division One’s Caleb Hodges is nothing if not versatile.
For the Tweed Heads Seagulls MM Cup side this season he played in the centres, backrow and even spent some time at dummy half on a couple of occasions.
For the Tweed Heads Seagulls in the MM Cup competition this season, Caleb Hodges played in four matches scoring for two tries. Caleb Hodges scored his first try in Round Six against the Wynnum Manly Seagulls and also scored in Tweed Heads semi-final against Souths Logan.
Last weekend in Round Seven of the U17 Division One competition he added another position to his CV when he started at fullback and scored as Bilambil were victorious 34-28.

Jayden Campbell has received a deserved call up to the Burleigh Bears Hastings Deering’s Colts side for this weekend’s local derby where he has been named on an extended bench in what would be his debut match in the Colts competition if he makes the final 17.
Last weekend in Round Ten of the U19 competition starting at five eighth he scored two tries and kicked three goals as his Helensvale side went down 36-30 to Bilambil. Jayden Campbell now has scored 96 points in the U19 competition, scoring seven tries and kicking 34 goals.
Immediately after the U19 match Jayden Campbell played the entire Doug Lipp Cup match at fullback and kicked four goals for the Hornets.

Burleigh second rower Flynn Daniel who has been involved with Titans Development Squads scored his fifth try in as many games in Round seven last Friday night as the Bears defeated Robina 62-6.
Next week Flynn Daniel will be part of the Queensland White side that will be involved in the U15 ASSRL Championships.
Ten Titans contracted U15’s will be taking part in the Championships in various squads.

Giant young Titan Vaikai who started in the front row for the Titans U15 side earlier in the year against the Western Mustangs crossed for his first try of the year for Runaway Bay as they defeated Ormeau 30-28 in Round Seven of the U15 Division One competition last Friday night.

Outstanding youngster Jye Gray started at five eight and scored two tries for Runaway Bay in Round Seven of the GCRL U15 Division One competition last Friday night, helping the Seagulls to a 30-28 victory over Ormeau. Last weekend’s match was just his second in the U15 Division One competition as he is still eligible for the U14 age group.
His performance was all the more impressive as he was up against star U15 five eight and TSS U15A player Syris Schmidt.

Titans contracted U16 Division One centre Tate Roberts was outstanding last weekend in Round Seven scoring a hat trick as Currumbin defeated Burleigh 32-18.
Tate Roberts has now scored nine tries from just five games this season (180% strike rate) to be a clear leader as the top try scorer in the U17 Division One competition.

Titans contracted Noah Gafa may not have scored for the first time this season in the U17 Division One competition as his Currumbin side defeated Runaway Bay in a high quality clash in Round Seven last weekend but he was still very influential.
Noah Gafa started the first six rounds in the centres and has been playing at left centre for PBC but played in the second row last weekend for Currumbin.

Burleigh Bears MM Cup players Reno Gerrard and Ronan Kapi as well as former Titans Development Squad member Deon Samuela played last night in Day One of the Queensland School Rugby trials in Ballymore in wet and difficult conditions.
Reno Gerrard and Deon Sameula played for GPS Navy who defeated Ronan Kapi’s GPS Gold 19-10.
Gerrard and Kapi in particular have a real shot at making the Queensland Schools side as does Rhian Stowers whose Queensland Combined High Schools who went down to AIC last night 10-7.
Former Ormeau Shearers 2017 U16/U17 player Roger Maliu was outstanding for Queensland Combined High Schools against AIC as well.
