New Zealand born hooker Repoama Morris-Ponga continues to impress for Burleigh in the GCRL U19 competition scoring his second try of the season last weekend in Round Eight as Burleigh defeated Beaudesert 48-18.

A very interesting player made his U19 GCRL debut for Runaway Bay in Round Eight over the weekend in their 32-24 win over Ormeau.
2018 South’s Logan MM second rower Vinncent Takataka started for Runaway Bay after an outstanding season in the MM Cup competition playing a number of matches for the Magpies including their MM Cup Grand Final and their National Final against Penrith, a match in which he scored in.
Earlier this season the former Canterbury Bankstown junior represented South Coast at the U18 QSSRL Championships in Toowoomba.

Northern New South Wales centre Terere Wikaira-Pehiriri had an outstanding match for the Burleigh U19 side in Round Eight last weekend, crossing for four tries in a 48-18 Bears victory over Beaudesert.
He played the 2017 season with the Clarence Coast Magpies in the U16.5 competition prior to moving to the Coast and has played for Burleigh in both the U17 Division One and U19 competitions this season and next year the young centre should be pushing for am MM Cup spot with the Bears.

In Burleigh’s U15 Division One Round Five 38-12 victory over Currumbin Titans linked Flynn Daniel scored his fifth try of the season.

Big strong PBC and Bilambil forward Solomon Torrens is not known as a goal kicker but was able to convert one of the Jets tries as they went down to Burleigh 24-10 in their U17 Division One Round Five clash last weekend

Talented young Runaway Bay centre Kyal Robb has had an outstanding last three rounds of the U17 Division One competition scoring doubles in each of the three rounds.
In Round Three he scored a double against Tweed Heads, in Round Four against Burleigh and last weekend in Round Five his double came against Mudgeeraba

In Burleigh’s Round Five U17 Division One 24-10 win over Bilambil, young utility Pita-Will Purcell started at lock and kicked four from four.
The question is not whether the former Victorian youngster can play, that is a given it is what is his best position as to date this season he has started in the centres, five eight and lock for the Burleigh U17 Division One and U19 teams as well has providing a spark off the bench on a number of occasions.

New Zealand born Koia Kuta-Roberts started at hooker and scored a hat trick for Southport as they defeated Helensvale 34-20 in their Round Five U16 Division One match last weekend. Earlier in the season he was part of the Gold Coast Vikings White U16 side that played in the South East Queensland U16 competition.
The young hooker from the Waikato region of New Zealand moved over to the Gold Coast at the start of the 2017 season to play for the Southport Tigers in the 2017 Gold Coast Junior Rugby League competition. Last season Koia Katu-Roberts played in six matches for the Tigers in the U15 Division One competition, scoring against Coomera and he also played three matches in the U16 Division One competition.
Koia Katu-Roberts played for the Wai-Coa-Bay Stallions who represent the Upper Central Zone in New Zealand in the U15 National Youth Tournament held in September 2016. In the tournament Koia Katu-Roberts played in two matches being against the South Island Scorpions and an Auckland Vulcans Development side. In a match against the Auckland Vulcans, he scored the Stallions second try in a 12 – 10 win for Wai-Coa-Bay. In the Waikato region, Koia Katu-Roberts played for the Ngaruawahia Panthers Junior Rugby League club for a number of years before his move to the Gold Coast.

Outstanding Currumbin hooker Cole Geyer was at his best once again last weekend in Round Five of the U17 Division One competition leading his Currumbin side around the field as they defeated Tweed Heads 50-0.
In addition to his outstanding distribution from dummy half the young hooker scored a double of his own in the Eagles victory.

Coomera Cutters youngster Blake Ruaporo has been as impressive as any player through the opening five rounds this season on the Gold Coast, playing for the Cutters in both the U14 and U15 Division One competitions. In Round Five of the U15 Division One competition last weekend, starting on the wing, he scored a double against Southport.
So far this season, Blake Ruaporo has played two matches for Coomera in the U14 Division One competition, scoring 28 points all of which came in Round Four against Ormeau when he scored a hat trick and kicked eight goals.
In the U15 Division One competition, he has started the last three rounds scoring 34 points from five tries and seven goals.
In Round Three, Blake Ruaporo scored a double in his U15 Division One debut. Round Four saw him score a try and kick five goals against Runaway Bay and last weekend in Round Five he scored a double and kicked two goals against Southport.

Young Coomera half back Jacob Tekii continued his outstanding points scoring start to the U17 Division Two season last weekend in Round Five when he scored a try and kicked five goals as the Cutters defeated Beaudesert 38-14.
Through the opening five rounds Jacob Tekii has now scored 70 points from two tries and 31 goals.

Big strong tough Titans youngster Sam Shannon was one of Southport’s try scorers in their U16 Division One Round Five victory over Helensvale 34-20 last weekend.
Deservedly Sam Shannon has recently been named in one of the South East Queensland U16 representative squads after having an outstanding SEQ U16 campaign for the Gold Coast Vikings White.

Playing at Cbus stadium as a curtain raiser to the Titans v Rabbitohs NRL match, Titans centre Tate Roberts scored his sixth try of the season to maintain his place at the top of the U16 Division One’s try scoring list, one in front of fellow Titan Trey Peni.
Unfortunately his U16 Division One Currumbin side were defeated 26-22 by Nerang in a great advert for junior rugby league on the Gold Coast.
