    In late September 2023 Israel Lotaki was named in the 2024 Burleigh Bears U17 Cyril Connell Cup squad.

    Israel Lotaki started at right centre for the South Coast School Boy U15 side on Day One of the 203 QSSRL Championships against Sunshine Coast with Israel Lotaki making an outstanding try saving tackle on the Sunshine Coast left winger with Israel Lotaki’s tackle knocking the ball loose when the winger was literally over the try line in the South Coast right corner.

    Israel Lotaki also started at right centre on Day Two against Northern and well as Day Three against Northern.

    Israel Lotaki then started at right centre in the 2023 QSSRL U15 School Boy Grand Final against Met East with Israel Lotaki doing well in the 46th minute when after receiving the ball wide out on the right and five metres inside Met East territory Israel Lotaki used a strong left arm fend to beat a number of defenders and get the ball to within twenty six metres of the try line.

    Israel Lotaki had earlier produced a smart piece of play in the 19th minute with a one on one strip of the ball thirty metres out with Israel Lotaki then able to return the ball ten metres to put South Coast immediately onto the attack just twenty metres out from the try line.

    Round One of the 2023 School Boy Hancock Cup competition saw Israel Lotaki start in the centres in Round One for Keebra Park SHS against Wavell SHS. Israle Lotaki also started in the centres in Round Two against Ipswich SHS as well as in Round Three against Marsden SHS, Round Five against Wavell SHS and Round Six against Stretton State College. Israel Loatki also started in the centres in the Round Seven Gold Coast School Boy derby against PBC SHS.

    Israel Lotaki also started in the centres in the Semi-Final against Marsden SHS and the 2023 Hancock Cup School Boy Rugby League Grand Final against Ipswich SHS.

    In late September 2023 Israel Lotaki was named in the Queensland Tonga U14 side for the 2023 QPICC carnival.

    Harvey Moase started at five eight for the Cudgen Hornets in the First Grade NRRRL Preliminary Final against the Bilambil Jets with Harvey Moase scoring a try and kicking a conversion in a Hornets 17 – 16 victory to progress to the Grand Final with Harvey Moase kicking his conversion in the 38th minute from eight metres to the right of the goal posts.

    Harvey Moase scored 58th minute when after taking possession of the ball down a short left blindside forty metres out, Harvey Moase put in a right foot grubber kick that was accidently kicked forward by the Jets fullback twenty metres from the try line with Harvey Moase putting up the ball low down at full speed with Harvey Moase then running down the left touchline to score in the left corner.

    Round One of the 2023 GCRL U18 Division One competition saw Hai Hiawe King start from the bench for the Currumbin Eagles against the Helensvale Hornets with Hai Hiawe King coming off the bench to operate in the front row in the 7th minute.

    Hai Hiawe King then moved into the Eagles starting side in the front row in Round Two against the Coomera Cutters with Hai Hiawe King making a strong kick-off return in the 7th minute to get the ball to the twenty metre mark. Hai Hiawe King then made another strong kick-off return in the 12th minute, on that occasion getting the ball over the twenty metre mark.

    Hai Hiawe King also started in the front row in Round Five against the Southport Tigers.

    Hai Hiawe King then started from the bench in Round Eleven against the Helensvale Hornets with Hai Hiawe King coming off the bench to play in the front row in the 18th minute.

    Hai Hiawe King almost scored in the 27th minute when after taking possession from an off-load sixteen metres from the try line, Hai Hiawe King broke two tackles as he charged at the try line only to be stopped less than a metre out in front of the posts.

    Earlier in the 19th minute made a big tackle on one of the Helensvile wingers two metres out and directly in front of the posts forcing a knock on to give Currumbin the scrum feed.

    Hai Hiawe King also started from the bench in Round Twelve against the Coomera Cutters and after coming onto the field to operate in the front row in the 22nd minute Hai Hiawe King immediately made a line break from a kick-off return with Hai Hiawe King bursting through a number of tackles as he charged into Coomera territory before being brought to ground in front of the posts and twenty nine metres from the try line at the opposite end of the field when where Hai Hiawe King’s run commenced.

    In the 29th minute from the left of the play the ball Hai Hiawe King ran onto the ball from forty metres out from the try line and carried the ball within twenty three metres. Then to start the second half Hai Hiawe King made a strong kick-off return to get the ball out to the twenty four metre mark.

    Hai Hiawe King rounded out a strong match in the 57th minute with a good effort to the right of the play the ball that saw Hai Haiwe King run the ball from thirty five metres out from the try line to sixteen metres out with Hai Hiawe King then able to get an off-load away to his right to Jaylen Taewa.

    The 2023 Gold Coast Rugby League Division One Grand Final saw Hai Hiawe King start from the bench in the Eagles Grand Final victory against the Burleigh Bears and after coming onto the field to play in the front row in the 6th minute Hai Hiawe King made a strong kick-off return that saw Hai Hiawe King get the ball out to the twenty metre mark.

    In early October 2023 Christian Mikaele was named in the 2024 Ipswich Jets U17 Cyril Connell Cup squad.

    In late 2022 Keebra Park SHS student Christian Mikaele was named in the 2023 Ipswich Jets U16 Cyril Connell Cup squad.

    Round Three of the 2023 U16 Cyril Connell Cup competition saw Christian Mikaele named on the bench for the Ipswich Jets against the Western Clydesdales.

    Christian Mikaele was then named to move into the Jets starting line-up at five eight in Round Four against the Wide Bay Bulls with Christian Mikaele scoring in the 59th minute when after receiving the ball to the left of the play the ball eighteen metres out, Christian Mikaele ran the ball to his left shaping to pass both to his left and right before Christian Mikaele stepped off his right foot before crashing through three defenders to score seven metres in from the left corner post untouched.

    Christian Mikaele also recorded two try assists against the Bulls with the first coming in the 25th minute when from the right of the play the ball, eleven metres out and down a short right blindside, Christian Mikaele put up a high right foot chip kick which was ideally weighted and went over the out stretched arm of the Bulls left winger and into the waiting arms of the Jets left winger in the in-goal to score.

    Christian Mikaele recorded his second try assist of the match early in the second half in the 34th minute when to the right of the play the ball and twelve metres out from the try line Christian Mikaele ran the ball down a short right blindside and after taking the ball deep into the defensive line Christina Mikaele, from eight metres out, put in a right foot grubber kick into the in-goal with his right winger winning the race to ground the ball in the in-goal three metres in from the right corner post.

    As a result of his exceptional performance Christian Mikaele was named at five eight in the 2023 Courier Mail Cyril Connell Cup Round Four Team of the Week.

    Christian Mikaele continued at five eight in Round Five against the Sunshine Coast Falcons with Christian Mikaele scoring one try and setting up another.

    Christian Mikaele scored in the 6th minute when he ran to his left from dummy half to crash over from six metres out to ground the ball mid-way between the goal posts and corner post on the left side of the field.

    Christian Mikaele recorded his try assist in the 29th minute when from around ten metres out and in the centre of the field Christina Mikaele put in a right foot chip kick towards the left corner which was perfectly weighted and landed in the arms of the Jets left winger in the in-goal to score.

    Christian Mikaele continued at five eight in Round Six against the Western Clydesdales with Christian Mikaele scoring in the 29th minute of a 40 – 20 Jets victory.

    In the 30th minute the Jets made a line break down the right touchline from deep inside their own territory and after backing up on the inside Christian Mikaele received the pass from his right winger who had drawn the fullback with Christian Mikaele having a twenty five metre run to dive over to score five metres to the right of the uprights.

    Christian Mikaele also started at five eight in Round Seven against the Wide Bay Bulls.

    Christian Mikaele finished the 2023 CC Cup season scoring four tries and recording four try assists.

    Christian Mikaele’s performances over the course of the 2023 U16 Cyril Connell Cup season saw Christian Mikaele named on the bench in the 2023 Courier Mail Cyril Connell Cup White Team of the Season.

    2023 saw Siu Pulepule move to Marsden SHS with Siu Pulepule playing in the Renouf Shield School Boy Rugby League competition and in October 2023 Siu Pulepule was named in the second row in the 2023 Marsden SHS Rugby League Team of the Year.

    In May 2023 Siu Pulepule was named in the Brisbane Junior Rugby U14 Representative squad.

    Stevie O'Connor who has been one of the best players in the NRRRL U18 competition in recent seasons has signed on to play for the Tweed Coast Raiders in the NRRRL First Grade competition.

    Round One of the 2023 NRRRL First Grade competition saw Rowan Mansfield start on the right wing for the Ballina Seagulls against the Cudgen Hornets with Rowan Mansfield successful with both of his conversion attempts in a six point Ballina victory.

    Rowan Mansfield continued on the right wing in Round Three against Marist Brothers with Rowan Mansfield scoring a second half hat trick with the first of his three tries coming in the 46th minute with a three metre run to get the ball down in the right corner with one defender handing off him.

    Rowan Mansfield scored his second try in the 75th minute when after receiving the ball three metres out from the right corner, Rowan Mansfield spun clockwise to beat a defender racing across field to score in the right corner.

    Rowan Mansfield completed his hat trick with a three metre effort from an off-load to score in the right corner in the 80th minute.

    Rowan Mnsfield scored once again in Round Five against Northern United from the right wing in the 74th minute when after picking up an errant pass just out from the try line with his back to the try line Rowan Mansfield spun to his left (right on the field) to get the ball down in the right corner.

    Rowan Mansfield also started on the right wing in Round Six against the Mullumbimby Giants with Rowan Mansfield scoring a double with Rowan Mansfield scoring his opening try in the 12th minute when Rowan Mansfield ran to his right out of dummy half from six metres out to score four metres in from the right corner post.

    Rowan Mansfield completed his double in the 47th minute with an easy four metre run after receiving the ball from his inside to put the ball down in the right corner.

    Rowan Mansfield also started on the right wing in Round Seven against the Kyogle Turkeys.

    Rowan Mansfield continued on the right wing in Round Eight against the Casino Cougars with Rowan Mansfield scoring in the 28th minute when after receiving the ball eight metres out and on the right touchline, Rowan Mansfield stepped off his right foot when four metres out to beat the Cougars fullback with Rowan Mansfield then able to bring the ball around to put it down under the posts.

    Rowan Mansfield also started on the right wing in Round Ten against the Bilambil Jets.

    Rowan Mansfield started on the right wing in Round Twelve against the Byron Bay Devils with Rowan Mansfield scoring in the 24th minute when after collecting the ball on the first bounce twelve metres out on the right touchline Rowan Mansfield was able to beat his opposing winger on the inside and dive over to score in the right corner.

    Round Fourteen against the Mullumbimby Giants saw Rowan Mansfield continue on the right wing with Rowan Mansfield scoring four of the Seagulls eight tries in a big Ballina win with Rowan Mansfield scoring all four of his tries in the first half.

    Rowan Mansfield scored his opening try in the 7th minute when after bursting between two tackles forty two metres from the try line Rowan Mansfield cut inside off his right foot twenty six metres out and after outpacing the fullback, Roan Mansfield beat another cover defender coming on from his left with Rowan Mansfield scoring eight metres to the right of the uprights.

    Rowan Mansfield scored his second try in the 12th minute from thirty metres when after a Mullumbimby pass when to ground Rowan Mansfield kicked the ball forward and after getting a great bounce two metres from the try line Rowan Mansfield scored ten metres in from the right corner post.

    Rowan Mansfield scored his third try in the 14th minute when after receiving the ball ten metres out and on the right touchline, Rowan Mansfield stepped inside off his right foot to beat his opposing winger and score six metres in from the right corner post.

    Rowan Mansfield scored his fourth try in the 40th minute when Rowan Mansfield collected a chip kick to his wing on the bounce four metres out in front of his opposing winger to score in the right corner.

    Rowan Mansfield also started on the right wing in Round Fifteen against the Evans Head Bombers with Rowan Mansfield making a line break and recording a try assist in the 75th minute when after receiving the ball from his inside thirty metres out from his own try line Rowan Mansfield burst away down the right touchline and after Rowan Mansfield was ankle tapped still thirty metres out, Rowan Mansfield was able to get back to his feet and when eighteen metres from the try line Rowan Mansfield was able to get an off-load away from his inside to his right centre who was able to score wide out on the right.

    In the 9th minute to return a kick-off that Rowan Mansfield had taken on the full and Rowan Mansfield was able to return the kick-off out to the thirty metre mark.

    Rowan Mansfield continued on the right wing in Round Sixteen against the Byron Bay Devils with Rowan Mansfield scoring in just the 2nd minute of the match when he chased through a short Ballina grubber with Rowan Mansfield getting downward pressure on the ball with both hands in the in-goal in the right corner.

    Rowan Mansfield also started on the right wing in the Week Two Qualifying Final against the Bilambil Jets with Rowan Mansfield scoring in the 62nd minute with a ten metre run down the right touchline to put the ball down one handed in the right corner after receiving a cut-out pass from his inside.

    The 2023 NRRRL First Grade Grand Final saw Rowan Mansfield start on the right wing against the Cudgen Hornets.

    The 2023 NRRRL First Grade Grand Final saw Harvey Moase start at halfback for the Cudgen Hornets against the Ballina Seagulls with Harvey Moase kicking three conversions from as many attempts in the Hornets 18 – 6 victory. Incredibly all three of Harvey Moase’s conversions came from the same spot on the field being three metres to the left of the goal posts in the 42nd, 65th and 68th minutes.

    Sam McAlister started from the bench in the Week Two Qualifying Final against the Southport Tigers and came onto the field in the 20th minute to play in the front row.

    Sam McAlister did well along with Cooper Bai to grab one of the Tigers players who was trying to bring the ball off his own try line, to grab him five metres out and force him back into the in-goal to force a Southport goal line drop-out.

    Sam McAlister also did well in the 42nd minute when whilst defending just out from his own try line Sam McAlister stuck out his left foot to block an attempted Tigers grubber into the in-goal and after the ball rebounded into the air Sam McAlister dived forward the retrieve the ball before it bounced to prevent any chance of any Southport player getting to the ball first.

    The 2023 Gold Coast Rugby League U18 Division One Grand Final saw Sam McAlister start from the bench against the Currumbin Eagles with Sam McAlister coming onto the field to operate in the front row in the 23rd minute and in the 31st minute Sam McAlister made a strong kick-off return to get the second half underway to get the ball out to the twenty five metre mark after Burleigh had spun the ball from their right to the left where Sam McAlister received the ball.

    Another young player from Rockhampton Grammar School to keep an eye on is electric outside back Lisiate Fa'aoso, he can absolutely fly.
