Brent Barnes Qld U16 Murri side
The Mudgeeraba Redbacks look good for the 2016 season with a number of our U18 linked players joining the Redbacks including talented second rower Darius Farmer joining from Ipswich.
Some quite interesting developments at Keebra, they have lost a few players in the U13 to U15 age groups to GPS rugby schools in Brisbane and if their best U16 player moves as well then it will be quite a big talent drain. Certainly a few young U13 Keebra Boys have moved to Ipswich Grammer School (IGS) and a few from older age groups to the likes of Brisbane Grammer School (BGS). The Broncos have made it an art form to grab some very talented players from GPS rugby schools to a lesser extent the Storm have as well. The Titans have certainly used TSS, for example Max Dowd etc and interestingly they are also looking at the few from Brisbane Based GPS Schools to supplement their other development programs (Hint grab young GC based Helensvale rugby fullback Ash Marsh, backrower Iharaira Tamarapa from Nerang and centre Indiha Sao-Tui Huta from Surfers)
Keebra are still going to have good sides at the age groups below Opens but will likely not dominate as they have in the past.
There has been a few new comers sign with us this season because they have to be signed with a local club to play MM but I'm told Darius is definitely playing when MM is finished, our 19's squad is looking very strong already.

We have 3 Nerang boys sign already including Clarke & Hollaway , the Bears are always the team to beat but most of their 19's from last season have had to move up through age & their 17's squad seems to have lost a lot of their guns ....
It will be a very competitive 19's comp for sure

Brent Barnes started at 5/8 for Qld Murri U16 in their 16 all draw. This young man is a real talent

A number of Tians linked players made South East Queensland Maori squads late last year, and that trend is likely to continue in 2016 with even more likely to be involved.
Amongst the junior players that made SEQ Maori sides, included:
U18
Apiata Noema
Kobe Tararo
U16
Darius Farmer
Konrad Edwards
Jaman Rio
U14
Rixon Andrew
Noah Leilua
Hopefully New Zealand Maori team gets there stuff together so the qld side can go tour New Zealand and play them
