    Brodie Saunders started from the bench for the Burleigh Bears in Round Five of the CC Cup against the Norths Devils with Brodie Saunders coming onto the field to play in the front row in the 19th minute and a minute later in the 20th minute after running onto the ball to the left of the dummy half Brodie Saunders was able to get the ball from thirty eight metres from his own try line to within two metres of the halfway mark.

    From the left of the play the ball in the 23rd minute and twenty four metres from his try line Brodie Saunders ran the ball out to the thirty four metre mark. Then in the 27th minute also from the left of the dummy half Brodie Saunders was able to get het ball from eighteen metres from the try line to within seven metres.

    Also from the left of the play the ball in the 31st minute Brodie Saunders ran the ball through the centre of the field from the halfway mark ten metres downfield and from the right of the dummy half in the 36th minute Brodie Saunders got the ball from forty metres to within thirty metres of the try line. Then in the 44th minute from the right of the play the ball Brodie Saunders ran the ball through the centre of the field once again from twenty four metres from his own try line to thirty six metres out.

    Brodie Saunders did well in the 26th minute when he chased through a Burleigh grubber kick into the in-goal and tackled the Devils winger No. 2 in-goal to force a goal line drop-out.

    Tanu Nona and Nic Hilton will start from the bench this weekend in Round One of the GCRL First Grade competition for Tugun Seahawks against the Runaway Bay Seagulls.

    Round One of the 2024 Group Two U18 competition saw Lockie McLaughlin start at right centre in the “Battle of the Bridge” local derby for the Grafton Ghosts against the South Grafton Rebels.

    Lockie McLaughlin, in the 7th minute took the ball from a Ghost penalty restart to carry the ball from ten metres from his own try line to twenty two metre out. Then in the 10th minute from two passes to the right of the play the ball Lockie McLaughlin ran the ball down the right channel from thirty two metres to within ten metres of the try line. Lockie McLaughlin also did well in the 22nd minute when after running onto the ball to the right of the play the ball Lockie McLaughin was able to carry the ball from nineteen metres from his own try line to thirty one metres out.

    In late September 2023 Austin Marsters was named in the 2024 Burleigh Bears U19 Mal Meninga Cup squad.

    Round One of the 2024 MM Cup competition saw Austin Marsters start from the bench for the Burleigh Bears against the Souths Logan Magpies with Austin Marsters and after coming onto the field to operate in the dummy half role in the 44th minute Austin Marsters ran to his right out of dummy half from eighteen metres out to get within five metres of the try line just to the left of the goal posts.

    Austin Marsters continued from the bench in Round Three against the Wynnum Manly Seagulls with Austin Marsters coming onto the field in the 50th minute to operate in the dummy half role.

    Austin Marsters also started from the bench in Round Five against the Norths Devils and after coming onto the field to operate in the dummy half role in the 55th minute Austin Marsters did well in the 63rd minute to turn and chase a Norths short kick-off with Austin Marsters jumping high to take the kick-off on the bounce whilst facing his own try line just in from of multiple Devils chasers.

    In late September 2023 Kanititeiti Sikahele was named in the 2024 Burleigh Bears U19 Mal Meninga Cup squad.

    Round One of the 2024 MM Cup competition saw Kanititeiti Sikahele start from the bench for the Burleigh Bears against the Souths Logan Magpies with Kanititeiti Sikahele and after coming onto the field in the 28th minute Kanititeiti Sikahele, in the 62nd minute ran onto the ball to the left of the play the ball and was able to get the ball from four metres inside Souths Logan territory to thirty metres out after running over the top of one defender.

    Kanititeiti Sikahele also started from the bench in Round Two against the Redcliffe Dolphins with Kanititeiti Sikahele coming on to operate in the centre of the field in the 42nd minute.

    Kanititeiti Sikahele continued from the bench in Round Three against the Wynnum Manly Seagulls with Kanititeiti Sikahele coming off the bench in the 18th minute.

    Kanititeiti Sikahele also started from the bench in Round Five against the Norths Devils and after coming onto the field in the 28th minute Kanititeiti Sikahele scored in the 57th minute when he ran off a short ball from his right from eight metres out with Kanititeiti Sikahele beating two defenders including the Norhts fullback on the try line to score ten metres to the right of the goal posts.

    Earlier in the 32nd minute Kanititeiti Sikahele ran the ball down a short right blindside from ten metres inside his own territory to get the ball five metres into Norths territory. Then in the 42nd minute from two passes to the right of the play the ball Kanititeiti Sikahele promoted the ball from twenty eight metres from the try line to within fifteen metres.

    Round One of the 2024 GCRL U18 Division One competition sees Edward Pirika named in the second row for the Southport Tigers against the Currumbin Eagles.

    2023 saw Edward Pirika start the season as part of the Burleigh Bears U18 MM Cup squad with Edward Pirika putting in a strong performance in his first match on the Gold Coast in the Bears opening 2023 MM Cup trial against the Souths Logan Magpies at the Titans annual Super Saturday series of matches at Burleigh Juniors.

    Edward Pirika was also part of the Burleigh Bears squad that took on local rivals the Tweed Heads Seagulls in the second trial of the year. Impressively Edward Pirika is also U18 MM Cup eligible in 2024.

    Round One of the 2023 Langer Reserve School Boy competition saw Edward Pirika named on the bench for Keebra Park SHS agaisnt Ipswich SHS.

    In early June 2023 Edward Pirika was named in the New Zealand Māori U17 side after representing Lotahitanga Wairua at the 2023 New Zealand Māori Championships.

    In 2022 Edward Pirika played for Tamaki Ki te Tonga (South) in the New Zealand Rugby League U16 Shaun Johnson Shield competition with Edward Pirika starting at right centre in their Grand Final victory the Auckland North side that contained Titans contracted Ryder Williams at five eight.

    In the 2022 U16 Shaun Johnson Shield Grand Final Edward Pirika scored in the second half when from within a metre of the try line with the play the ball mid-way between the goal posts and corner post on the right side of the field Edward Pirika moved into dummy half, got down low and burrowed over just to the right of the play the ball.

    In New Zealand Edward Pirika played for the Mangere East Hawks Rugby League club.

    Round One of the 2024 GCRL U18 Division One competition saw Makau Waiaou named on the bench for the Southport Tigers against the Currumbin Eagles.

    In September 2022 Makau Waiapu was named in the South Queensland Maori U16 Tuakana representative squad.

    The tough young Coomera Cutters forward was part of the Titans U13 side that defeated the Western Mustangs 40 – 12 at Mudgeeraba in February 2019 in very hot and steamy conditions.

    Early in the 2019 season Makau Waiapu was named in the Gold Coast Vikings U13 squad for the South East Queensland Hill Stumer Championships where he started in the front row.

    Makau Waiapu started the opening three rounds of the GCRL U13 Division One competition in the front row for Coomera.

    In total in the GCRL U13 Division One regular season competition Makau Waiapu played in eleven matches primarily in either the front row or second row, scoring ten tries including scoring four tries in Round Nine against Runaway Bay and a Round Fourteen double also against Runaway Bay.

    Makau Waiapu also scored in Round Two against Ormeau, Round Twelve against Helensvale.

    In the first week of the Finals series, Makau Waiapu started in the second row and scored as Coomera defeated Southport 46 – 24.

    Makau Waiapu also started in the second row in Week Two of the Finals against Burleigh with the Cutters season coming to an end with their loss.

    2018 saw Makau Waiapu play in the Gold Coast Rugby League U12 Division One competition for the Coomera Cutters, playing primarily in the second row. In his thirteen matches, including finals, Makau Waiapu amassed sixteen points from three tries and two goals.

    Makau Waiapu’s three tries came in the opening three rounds against Mudgeeraba, Currumbin and Burleigh Maroon. In the Round One match Makau Waiapu kicked his first conversion and kicked his second in June against Burleigh White.
