Titans contracted Shannon Subritzy-Stewart started at right centre and kicked seven from ten and had a great try assist in an outstanding display for Norths in their 51-14 GBJRL U15 Division One Grand Final win over Easts.

The try assist was outstanding. Shannon Subritzy-Stewart who got the ball early got around the Easts left winger bursting down the right touch line before stepping inside and delivering a right arm pass in the tackle of the fullback to his trailing five eight to score under the posts for a try that accounted for 70 odd metres.

Joshua Buttenshaw has been named in the centres for the Group One U15 representative side for this weekend’s NSW Country Age Championships in Port Macquarie.

For Ballina in the Group One U15 competition, Joshua Buttenshaw (older brother Matt is a Titans contracted player) played in Seven matches scoring sixty points from six tries and eighteen goals scoring in every one of his six matches.

He scored doubles against Casino RSM and Lismore Marist Brothers and also scored against Clarence Coast and Lismore Marist again.

With the boot he kicked five against Lismore Marist Brothers in June and kicked three goals in a match on three occasions.

Joshau Buttenshaw also played three U16.5 matches this season making his debut in that competition against Marist Brothers Blue in early June. His other U16.5 matches were against Clarence Coast and Marist Gold.

Tira Rau’s 2019 season came to a close yesterday as Runaway Bay went down 20-16 in the GCRL U20 Preliminary Final with Tira Rau contributing a try for the Seagulls.

Tria Rau has been impressive this season for Runaway Bay in both the GCRL U18 Division One competition as well as the U20 competition.

In the U18 Division One competition Tira Rau scored seven tries from nine appearances including doubles against Tugun and Southport and also scored against Mudgeeraba, Currumbin and Southporth.

Including final Tira Rau finished his nine GCRL U20 matches with a 100% strike rate including scoring four tries against Helensvale in early August and backing that up a week later with a hat trick against Southport.

I would anticipate that 2020 will see Tira Rau in the Hastings Deering’s Colts competition with either Burleigh or Tweed Heads with the only consideration being whether he plays fullback, centre or five eight.
