The Runaway Bay Seagulls have defeated Ormeau in the GCRL U15 Division Two Grand Final 12-6 to continue the great games at CBus Stadium today.

Magnificent match with Titans Nelson Makaafi and Luke Jones leading Currumbin to a 24-20 Grand Final victory over Beaudesert in the GCRL U15 Division One Grand Final 24-20.

Every player on the field put in a great great effort full of determination and heart with all a credit to themselves, their families and club.

Helensvale won the U16 Division One Grand Final 32-22 in a great performance against Burleigh

A recent signing for the Titans is Jack Schmidt. The young man originally from the Bundaberg region moved down to the Gold Coast to attend Keebra Park SHS and after playing a number of matches for Keebra Park SHS in the front row in the Titans Cup School Boy competition signed a multi year contract with the Titans.

On the Gold Coast in 2022 Jack Schmidt also played a number of matches for the Burleigh Bears in the U16 GCRL Division One competition but due to the lack of matches Jack Schmidt did not qualify of the Finals series.

Jack Schmidt started the 2022 season as part of the Wide Bay Bulls U16 Cyril Connell Cup squad and after the Bulls had a Round One bye Jack Schmidt started the Bulls remaining four matches in the front row.

Prior to his move to the Gold Coast Jack Schmidt played in the Bundaberg U16 Junior Rugby League competition for Bundaberg Brothers. Interestingly Jack Schmdt played his opening three Bundaberg U16 matches are five eight before moving to the second row in Round Six against the Bundaberg Waves.

Jack Schmidt’s move to the second row paid handsome dividends as in addition to scoring against the Waves Jack Schmidt also scored from the second row position in Rounds Seven and Eight, on both occasions against the Wests Panthers.

Jack Schmidt also played in the Bundaberg Junior Rugby League competition in 2021 and was named Player of the Match in the 2021 Grand Final playing five eight.
