Former Western Mustangs front rower Lue Maiden continues his 2019 season this afternoon, with the Titans contracted forward starting in the front row for the Burleigh Colts in their trial against Tweed Heads at Burleigh this afternoon.

After an outstanding first season on the Gold Coast Larryon Tevita starts his 2019 season this afternoon when he lines up in the second row for the Burleigh Colts in their trial against Tweed Heads.
For me the most difficult type of rugby league player to find is a legitimate strike centre but one player who in 2018 showed signs of becoming an outstanding talent is New Zealand born centre Mikey Williams who this afternoon lines up in the centres for the Burleigh Bears Colts side in their trial against Tweed Heads at Pizzey Park.
great win for the Northern Rivers Titans U16 defeating Parramatta 52-0. Ten Titans involved.
Tough afternoon for the Northern Rivers Titans U18’s going down to Parramatta
Northern Rivers Titans points scorers from their win this afternoon against the Parramatta Eels in Sydney Weaver 2, J Coleman 2, J De Groot, J Field, R Mansfield, R Lack, R Foran tries; T Weaver 8 goals.
Keeping Parramatta scoreless was a great bonus
Burleigh and Tweed Colts drew 20 all in their trial yesterday afternoon and in the MM trial, Tweed defeated Burleigh
Wynnum MM side beat westernmustangs 32 to 22 and colts also got up over Mustangs 70 to nil
What's gone wrong with the Mustangs U20 side? Lack of numbers/interest? Serious injuries?
The Murwillumbah NRRRL side certainly has a strong look to it for the upcoming season and got stronger recently with two former Titans Development Squad members joining the fold.
Centre Liam Cusack and half/five eight Ethan Kane will line up for the Colts on occasion this season and both should make their mark in the NRRRL First Grade competition this season after moving over from the Cudgen Hornets where they were part of the U18 side that made the NRRRL U18 Grand Final last season.
The Byron Bay NRRRL First Grade backrow looks to have a youthful and powerful look to it this season with former Ballina Seagulls youngster Kuyan Roberts-Laurie joining the fold.
Even though he is still U18 eligible in 2019 I would anticipate that Kuyan Roberts-Laurie will play a fair bit of NRRRL First Grade this coming season after playing a few NRRRL First Grade games for Ballina in 2018.
Kuyan Roberts Laurie is the third backrower to join Byron Bay with the likes of Jordan Sly and Kurtis Dark also potentially likely to line up for Byron Bay on occasion this season.
Former Shalom College Bundaberg student Jai Smith has moved down to the Gold Coast and started Burleigh’s final MM Cup trial against the Tweed Heads Seagulls from the bench.
In 2018 Jai Smith played for Brothers in the Bundaberg U18 competition, playing in eight matches in total.
Jai Smith was also a stand out for Shalom College co-captaining the side from lock and was named as his team’s best player at the 2018 Confraternity Shield.
Jai Smith also has some International experience, starting all three of the Serbian sides matches in the 2018 European Rugby League U19 competition at five eight. The sides that Jai Smith played against were Ireland, Ukraine and England.
