On Sunday in Round Two of the NRRRL U18 competition Jett Stocker started on the right wing for the Tweed Coast Raiders against the Bilambil Jets and produced two smart pieces of play in his side’s six point loss.

In the 43rd minute, with Bilambil attacking the Raiders line, Jett Stocker turned and chased an attacking Jets chip kick, taking the ball on the full running backwards. Jett Stockers momentum took him into the in-goal area, but he immediate spun around and got down low to get back into the field of play just in front of the onrushing chase. If Jett Stocker had not gotten down low there is no doubt he would have been trapped in goal forcing a Raiders line drop out.

Then in the 45th minute with the Tweed Coast attack stalled near the halfway mark, Jett Stocker pushed his way into dummy half, racing to his left at the still back peddling Jets defensive line. Such was the speed of Jett Stocker, the Bilambil defenders had no choice but to make the tackle even though they had not gone back the ten metres, thus giving away the penalty.

For the Bilambil Jets on Sunday in Round Two of the NRRRL U18 competition Kai Smallwood started at halfback against the Tweed Coast Raiders recording another try assist in the Jets 22 – 16 victory.

In the 32nd minute, Kai Smallwood took the ball down a wide right blindside dummying to both sides of his body before looking once again to his outside and held the ball up nicely before putting his right centre into a gaping hole and from there the centre raced thirty metres to score in the right corner.

Kai Smallwood added a darting run down a left blindside in the 25th minute to his match highlight reel, making eighteen metres in the process.

Esmonde Parangi’s try assist did not come until the 66th minute but certainly as worth the wait. Bilambil Jets Reshawn Anderson was named to start in the front row in Round Two of the U18 NRRRL competition on Sunday against the Tweed Coast Raiders but ended up coming off the bench but scored for the second week in a row.

Reshawn Anderson’s try came in the 35th minute when he charged onto the from sixteen metres out, stepping off his left to beat the initial defender before a Reshawn Anderson right foot step easily defeated the fullback to dive over adjacent to the left upright.

In addition to his try, Reshawn Anderson pulled up some other skilful plays that you would not except from a front rower including in the 24th minute. The Tweed Coast halfback had put in a chip kick and looked certain to regain possession but Reshawn Anderson willed himself to race back to get to the ball just in front of the Raiders halfback.

Then in the 58th minute Reshawn Anderson put in a great grubber kick from twenty metres out on the 5th tackle. Reshawn Anderson chased the kick through, regaining possession with only a desperate tackle by the Raiders fullback brought Reshawn Anderson down two metres short of the try line.

On Sunday Kye Cooper started at right centre in Round Two of the U18 NRRRL competition against the Byron Bay Devils making the opening tackle of the match after Ballina had kicked off and the Byron Bay No. 10 was returning the ball. Kye Cooper’s tackle in the 9th minute was even better as it was a ty saving one when he rag dolled the Byron Bay left winger over the touchline when he looked a certainly to score in the corner. The in the 25th minute Kye Cooper made an aggressive ball and all tackle on from the marker position.

The match was not all defence for Kye Cooper as in just the 2nd minute of the match he made his first run when he ran out of dummy half making ten metres from inside his own territory.
