The 2019 Gold Coast Vikings U16 squad has a number of talented second rowers to choose from including Burleigh’s Seth Gibbs.
This season in the U15 Division One competition he played in eleven matches scoring six tries including a mid-season double against Mudgeeraba and tries against Helensvale, Currumbin, Southport and Runaway Bay in the Final’s series.
Seth Gibbs also played one U16 Division Two match which came against Robina in the Grand Final when he started from the bench as Burleigh won 18-16 in a tight match.
Big strong young Southport Tigers front rower Carson Patu will show his skill set for the Gold Coast Vikings U16 side in 2019 after recently being named in the training squad.
This season in the U15 Division One competition he finished with an impressive strike rate of 75% from just eight matches.
He scored doubles against Robina and Helensvale, and also scored in games against Coomera and Helensvale in Round One.
This season He Patu also played a number of club rugby matches for the Griffith University Colleges U15 side including starting in the front row in their 47-19 Grand Final victory over the Helensvale Hogs which was played at Skilled Stadium which was played as a curtain raiser to a Wallabies match.
For the Griffith University Colleges U15 side he played a variety of positions including front row and open and blindside flanker.

U15 Division One Helensvale lock Jay Blazek shapes as a smoky to stand out for the 2019 Gold Coast Vikings U16 side after a more than solid season for the Hornets where he played eleven matches, scoring five tries along the way.
Jay Blazek scored a late season double against Mudgeeraba and also scored against Burleigh and Currumbin twice.
Powerful winger Tyreese Pati-Sialapae had a great end to the 2018 season, including starting on the wing for Ormeau as they won the U15 Division One Grand Final 38-20 against Runaway Bay and subsequently was named in the 2019 Gold Coast Vikings U16 train on squad.
For Ormeau this season he was involved in eleven matches scoring six tries, including doubles against Southport and Coomera and single tries in matches against Mudgeeraba and Runaway Bay.
Starting in the front row for the Grand Final winning U15 Division One Ormeau side in their 38-20 victory against Runaway bay was a fitting end to a solid season for front row prospect Ngariki Weston as was his subsequent selection in the 2019 Gold Coast Viking sU16 side.
This season for the Shearers he played in eleven U15 Division One matches scoring 16 points from three tries and two goals. He started in the season in style scoring in the opening two rounds against Burleigh and Mudgeeraba and then had a big game mid-season against Robina when he scored a try and kicked two goals.
Second rower LT Anae is another member of Ormeau’s Grand Final winning U15 Division One side that has been selected in the 2019 Gold Coast Viking sU16 side.
He started the Grand Final from the bench and over the course of the 2018 season scored four tries from eleven matches, scoring a double against Southport and also scored against Runaway Bay and Robina.
Pushing for playing time in of the two 2019 Gold Coast Vikings U16 sides will be Helensvale front rower Brock Buckley.
In the U15 Division One side for the Hornets this season the young front rower scored two early season tries against Burleigh and Southport in his eleven matches.
