Powerfully built Titans linked and 2018 Souths Logan MM Cup winger Leevai Sutton has been an impressive performer since moving over from Western Australia for the start of the 2016 season to attend Ipswich State High School and progress in developing rugby league career.
On Saturday Leevai Sutton was part of the Titans U18 side that defeated New South Wales Country U18’s 14-12 on a wet track at Cudgen.
In the 2018 MM Cup season Leevai Sutton played in ten matches for Souths Logan starting all on the wing including the Queensland MM Cup final against Norths and the National U18 final against the Penrith Panthers.
Leevai Sutton finished the 2018 U18 season with six tries including scoring a hat trick in Round Two against the Northern Pride. Leevai Sutton also scored in Round Four against the Burleigh Bears and scored in both Queensland Finals being against Tweed Heads and Norths.
Leevai Sutton also was involved in one U20 Hastings Deering’s Colts U20 match this season, starting from the bench in Round Twenty Four against Ipswich.
Leevai Sutton also played in one match for Souths in the GBRL Senior Southside One competition and one match in the 2018 “In Safe Hands Cup BRL A Grade” competition being in Round Nineteen against the Easts Tigers.
In 2017 Leevai Sutton represented Met West in the QSSRL U18 Championships playing all of Met West’s matches in the centres.
Leevai Sutton’s last season in Western Australia was in 2015 when he played for the Rockingham Sharks in the U16 competition scoring eight tries, kicking twenty two goals and a field goal for 77 points on the season as a 15 year old.
In the Western Australian U14 competition in 2014 Leevai Sutton had an outstanding season scoring thirty one tries and kicking fifty goals for a 224 point haul from just sixteen matches.

Bailey Martin – lock
Brock Priestley – centre
Brody Smitka – front row
Caleb Gould-Waiariki – hooker
Ezra Ubaldino – centre
Flynn Daniel – second row
Kaden Somerville – hooker
Kaleb Ngamanu – centre/wing
The majority of these young men were involved in the Titans U15 sides 16-10 victory over Balmain.
In the match Bailey Martin was named as the Titans best forward with his outstanding defence and tough running, Kaleb Ngamanu scored the Titans first try and was involved in fullback Rowan Mansfield’s second half try and Kaden Somerville was outstanding starting at hooker.
When Caleb Gould Waiariki came on mid-way through the first half in the dummy half role his first run he made 20 metres or so from dummy half splitting the Tigers defence right through the centre of the ruck and Flynn Daniel performed well starting in the right second row position (Ryan Foran started on the left).
Starting in the front row Brody Smitka paired with Northern NSW youngster Jack Cullen adding some starch in defence.

Ethan, Foster, Kuyan Roberts-Laurie and Jonah Whitlam-Rose named in the Northern Rivers Titans U18 side for the 2019 Laurie Daley Cup competition.
Bayley Cox, Jack Cullen, Ryan Foran, Byron Jones, Riley Lack, Rowan Mansfield and Thomas Weaver have been named in the Northern Rivers Titans U16 side for the 2019 Andrew Johns Cup competition.
All were in the Titans U15 squad that defeated Balmain 16-10 at Cudgen recently.
There is certainly a couple of talented players named in the Northern Rivers Titans U18 side for the 2019 Laurie Daley Cup competition.
In addition the likes of Titans linked Ethan Foster (centre/second row), Jonah Whitlam-Rose (hooker) and Kuyan Roberts-Laurie (second row) there are a number of others to keep an eye on come 2019.
Outside backs, Khye Baker, Caleb Kinna, Zak Lateo, Jahvis Kendall and Rocco Partridge are talented try scorers and will have halves Tyrelle Roberts and Joel Antonelli leading them around the field from the half back position. Tyrelle Roberts scored an outstanding try for the Group One U16 side that went down by two points against a Western Mustangs U16 side in a match played prior to the Titans against Balmain U15 clash a week or two ago.
The Northern Rivers Titans U18 side contains a number of outstanding backrowers including Parker Bryant, Cooper Many, Simon Pratt, Jayden Martens and Joshua Stothard and powerful front rower Carl Lolohea will be hard for other sides to stop when he gets up to full steam.
A few of these young players are sure to force their way into Titans Development Squad calculations.
The Northern Rivers Titans U16 2019 Andrew Johns Cup side contains a number of Titans contracted players such as Bailey Cox, Jack Cullen, Ryan Foran, Byron Jones, Riley Lack, Rowan Mansfield and Thomas Weaver.
The squad however also contains a number of other talented players looking to make their mark including fullback Jaylan De Groot, centres Keegan Pace and Parker Grove, five eight Jordan Gallagher, hooker Oskar Bryant and second rower Jack Kuhnell amongst others.
Young front rowers Damian Wilson and Noah Johannssen will also enjoy the opportunity to test themselves against other sides.
A few of these young players are sure to force their way into Titans Development Squad calculations.
Well done to former Titans NYC player Blake Lenehan who was recently named the Ipswich Jets Colts 2018 Best Forward.
The Titans affiliated Western Mustangs are holding their MM Cup and Hastings Deering’s U20 Colts open trials tomorrow and whilst both sides had tough seasons in 2018 certainly had some talent in the squads such as Titans linked Luke Maiden, Connor Williams and Lesley Hartvigsen amongst others.
