Good to see Hayden Schwass make the Australian squad for the 2018 Rugby League Commonwealth Championships, which will be held at Redcliffe’s Dolphin Stadium on February 23-24. The team will play in the exhibition nine-a-side (U23) tournament, being held in the lead-up to the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games

Titans contracted youngster Thomas Weaver had an outstanding 2018 Oztag State Cup on the Sunshine Coast for the Tweed Coast Giants U15 Boys. His side were defeated 5-3 in their semi-final by the Caloundra jets

In the preliminary rounds the Tweed Coast Giants had some outstanding results including beating Bundaberg 18 -1 and Townsville Blackhawks 13-2

The Burleigh Bears MM Cup and Colts side play their first trial matches of the season today against the Easts Tigers at Mudgeeraba with the MM Cup clash starting at 1.30. Both sides have a number of Titans boys and the Colts side looks exceptionally strong

Interesting to see former Sydney Roosters SG Ball player Reece Tapine ling up on the wing today for Burleigh in the A Grade match against Easts. Reece Tapine should be pushing for a Colts pot come Round One. Reece Tapine played the first two rounds of the 2017 SG Ball competition for the Roosters
