Bailey McConnell continued at five eight for the Burleigh Bears in Round Three of the MM Cup against the Wynnum Manly Seagulls with Bailey McConnell scoring in the 43rd minute when after taking possession of the ball to the left of the dummy half thirty six metres from the try line, Bailey McConnell dummied to his left and then after breaking through the Seagulls defensive line Bailey McConnell easily wrong footed the fullback as a result of a left foot step to then put the ball over the try line ten metres to the left of the goal posts.

Bailey McConnell also recorded a try assist in the 20th minute when with the Bears attack stalled on the last tackle, Bailey McConnell was passed the ball to the right of the dummy half around twelve metres out and off the cuff Bailey McConnell put in a right foot chip kick towards the right corner with Creedence Donovan racing through a leaping above his opposing winger to take a spectacular catch and get the ball down three metres in from the right corner post.

Earlier in the 12th minute Bailey McConnell recorded a line break assist when after taking possession of the ball to the left of the dummy half and forty three metres from the try line, Bailey McConnell dummied to his left and as a result was able to make a half break and after getting his right arm free Bailey McConnell got an off-load away to his left to Disharne Tonihi who charged down the left channel and then drew the fullback and passed to his right for Coby Black to score.

In just the 2nd minute of the match from the right of the play the ball but still on the left side of the field and fifteen metres from the try line Bailey McConnell put in a right foot grubber kick with the well weighted effort taken dead by the Seagulls fullback to force a Wynnum Manly goal line drop-out.

Creedence Donovan continued on the right wing for the Burleigh Bears in Round Three of the MM Cup against the Wynnum Manly Seagulls with Creedence Donovan scoring the first of his two tries in the 20th minute when with the Bears attack stalled on the last tackle, Bailey McConnell was passed the ball to the right of the dummy half around twelve metres out and off the cuff Bailey McConnell put in a right foot chip kick towards the right corner with Creedence Donovan racing through a leaping above his opposing winger to take a spectacular catch and get the ball down three metres in from the right corner post.

Creedence Donovan completed his double in the 25th minute with another spectacular try from a set move. With Burleigh having a scrum feed just ten metres from their own try line, Bears half Coby Black kicked deep from the scrum with Creedence Donovan racing downfield and after outpacing the Seagulls chasers Creedence Donovan toe’d the ball forward off the ground around thirty metres out with Creedence Donovan then picking up the ball a metre prior to the try line to score five metres to the right of the goal posts.

Creedence Donovan had done well in the 5th minute when after receiving the ball two passes to the right of the play the ball and after continuing to run to his right Creedence Donovan carried the ball from eighteen metres out from his own try line to thirty two metres out before being tackled near the right touchline. Then in the 11th minute after running onto the ball to the left of the play the ball Creedence Donovan made twelve metres from fourteen metres from his own try line.

Creedence Donovan ran onto the ball to the left of the play the ball once again in the 14th minute and was able to promote the ball from his own thirty metre mark to within seven metres of the halfway mark.

Potentially Creedence Donovan’s best run of the match came in the 55th minute when after running to his left out of dummy half from his own thirty metre mark with Creedence Donovan stepping and slashing his way to five metres into Wynnum Manly territory.

Creedence Donovan also did well in the 29th minute when he chased a long driving clearing Burleigh kick with the Wynnum Manly fullback getting to the ball in the in-goal but Creedence Donovan raced downfield and was able to tackle the fullback just as he was getting back into the field of play but Creedence Donovan who had momentum on his side was able to force the fullback back into the in-goal area to necessitate a Seagulls goal line drop-out.
