    In his first season in the NRRRL senior grades Lismore Marist Brothers fullback Campbell Harvey ended up as the U18 competitions leading try scorer with 16 tries from as many matches and also made both his NRRL Reserve Grade and First Grade debuts over the course of the season.

    In addition to his 16 NRRRL U18 tries he also kicked two conversions both coming early in the season against Kyogle.

    Campbell Harvey produced an outstanding match in June scoring five tries against Lower Clarence and added doubles against Tweed Coast and Kyogle as well as tries against Tweed Coast, Ballina, Kyogle, Byron Bay, Tweed Heads, Casino RSM and Evans Head.

    He made his deserved NRRRL First Grade debut in late July against Casino RSM and also played in two NRRRL Reserve Grade matches scoring on debut in early June against Lower Clarence (he scored five tries earlier in the day in the U18 match) with his other match being against Cudgen a fortnight after his debut.

    In his first season on the Gold Coast after moving over from Wellington New Zealand lock Junior Daniels proved a handful for opposing defences in the GCRL U15 Division Three competition finishing the 2019 competition as the leading try scorer with 18 from 14 matches (129%). Unfortunately Junior Daniels and his Mudgeeraba team mates went down 22-16 in the Grand Final to Nerang.

    Junior Daniels started his Gold Coast career off with a bang scoring four tries in Round One against Currumbin and added a double in Round Two against Helensvale. In addition to those tries he also scored a hat trick against Currumbin and further doubles against Currumbin in two others matches and against Nerang.

    Junior Daniels enjoyed playing against Currumbin scoring 11 of his 18 tries against them in 2019 being 61.11% of his tries for the season.

    Lock or second rower Levi Dangerfield was recently named the Group 18 U14 representative seasons Best and Fairest after starting at lock in both of Group 18’s matches at the NSW Country Age Championships held in Port Macquarie in September with those matches being on Day One against Central Coast and Group Four.

    The Lindisfarne Anglican Grammar School student played the 2019 season with the Cudgen Hornets U14 side and is a big strong young man with a lot of potential.

    South Grafton hooker Keaton Stutt is currently part of the Titans 2020 Group One Academy squad that is training on a weekly basis in Ballina in Northern New South Wales.

    In the 2019 Group One U14 competition Keaton Stutt played in ten matches in the red and white of the South Grafton Rebels, including their Grand Final loss to Ballina, scoring a total of 46 points, made up of three tries and seventeen goals. Keaton Stutt scored a mid-season double against Casino RSM and added a try against Clarence Coast later in the season.

    Keaton Stutt’s seventeen goals were enough for him to finish second on the Group One U14 goal kicking tally. Keaton Stutt kicked five goals in a match on two occasions, coming in consecutive matches in June against Lismore Marist Brothers and Casino RSM. In the match against Casino RSM he also scored a double to finish the match with an individual point’s tally of eighteen.

    2019 also saw Keaton Stutt represent Group One at the NSW Country U14 Age Championships starting all three of the Taipan’s matches at hooker and scoring in Group One’s first match of Day Two against Group 21. Keaton Stutt’s other matches at the Championships were against Maitland on Day One and Central Coast in Group One’s second match of Day Two.

    In 2018, the Grafton High School student played in ten matches for the South Grafton Rebels finishing the season with thirty six points from three tries and twelve goals. All three of his tries came in separate matches being against Clarence Coast, Lismore Marist Brothers and Grafton and with the boot Keaton Stutt kicked four goals in July against Kyogle.

    Keaton Stutt is a multi-sport athlete who is also a state level field hockey player and has also played soccer.

    Runaway Bay Seagulls fullback Andrew Brennan was impressive in 2019 both for Runaway Bay in the GCRL U14 Division One competition as well as for the Gold Coast Vikings U14 side from a representative perspective.

    In 2019 Andrew Brennan finished second on the U14 Division One competition’s leading try scorer tally with 20 tries from 16 matches (125%).

    He scored three hat tricks which came against Mudgeeraba, Currumbin and Ormeau as well as doubles against Southport, Helensvale twice and Beaudesert as well as scoring against Burleigh twice and Southport.

    In 2018 Andrew Brennan scored 20 tries from nine U13 Division One matches as well as scoring in his sole U14 Division Two match which was against Robina in June 2018.

    Southport U14 Division One second rower Jacob Sa only played in five matches this season but did score three tries including a double against Currumbin and also scoring a week prior against Ormeau.

    He also represented the Gold Coast Vikings U14 side in 2019 at the Hill Stumer Championships that were held in Ipswich and from there went on to play for South East Queensland White at the Queensland Age Championships.

    In addition Jacob Sa played outside centre (No. 13) for the TSS U14A school boy GPS side starting there in all eight of TSS matches, including obtaining one man of the match award that he received against Toowoomba Grammar School

    Helensvale flyer Izack Aramo’s 2019 season saw him finish the GCRL U14 Division Two competition as the leading scorer with 22 tries from just 16 matches (138% strike rate)

    In addition to scoring four tries in late July against Beaudesert, he scored five doubles which came against Parkwood, Nerang, Mudgeeraba, Ormeau and Southport as well as a hat trick also against Ormeau.

    Local Runaway Bay half/five eight Waylon Caldwell had a very good 2019 season with Runaway Bay (unfortunately they lost the Grand Final to Burleigh) in the GCRL U14 Division One competition and for the Gold Coast Vikings U14 representative side as well as starting at fullback for SEQ Green.

    In the U14 Division One competition he finished second both on the competitions goal kicking list (37 goals) and overall points scoring list (122). He also scored 12 tries from his 16 matches.

    Waylon Caldwell scored doubles against Mudgeeraba, Helensvale, Currumbin and Southport. From a goal kicking perspective he kicked six against Currumbin and five in Round Three against Mudgeeraba.

    His biggest individual points tally in a match was 20 (two tries, six goals) against Currumbin in late June and he also scored 18 (two tries, five goals) in Round Three against Mudgeeraba.

    Southport U14 Division One centre Logan Coles had a very good 2019 season including scoring 12 tries and kicking one goal (against Beaudesert) for a 50 point total from 17 matches, including finals.

    He scored a hat trick in July against Beaudesert and well as doubles against Currumbin and Burleigh.

    Mudgeeraba Redbacks U14 Division One second rower Kane Garland had an impressive 2019 season finishing in the Top Five in tries scored and the top try scoring forward with 12 tries from sixteen matches. He also kicked 21 goals to finish the season with 90 points.

    Kane Garland finished the season with an incredible points scoring run scoring 11 of his tries and 15 of his goals in a five match span from mid-July against Currumbin to mid-August against.

    In the first match of his point scoring explosion he scored a double against Currumbin, the following week against Southport he scored two tries and two goals before adding two tries and five goals against Currumbin once again.

    In the final two weeks he scored two tries and three goals against Burleigh before scoring a hat tricks and kicking five goals against Helensvale.

    Southport lock Jake Mendham played an impressive 42 matches for the Tigers in 2019 spanning three competitions.

    In the U13 Division One competition Jake Mendham had a strike rate of 108% from 13 matches, scoring a hat trick against Currumbin and doubles against Runaway Bay and Currumbin. Impressively he scored in his first six U13 Division One matches of the 2019 season.

    In the U14 Division One competition, including finals he played in 15 matches scoring two tries both of which came in a late June match against Ormeau.

    Finally in the U14 Division Two competition Jake Mendham scored seven tries in fourteen appearances including a finals hat trick against Burleigh.

    U14 Division One Burleigh Grand Final winning fullback Jaykob Brown finished as the competitions leading goal kicker with 56 goals and overall leading points scorer with 148.

    In addition to his 56 goals he scored nine tries. Jaykob Brown scored doubles against Beaudesert twice and Mudgeeraba.

    With the boot, Jaykob Brown kicked seven in June against Currumbin and Beaudesert and kicked five goals in a match on five occasions.

    As you except he had some big individual points tallies in matches including scoring 22 (two tries, seven goals) against Beaudesert in May and 18 (two tries, five goals) against Beaudesert once again in June.

    Jaykob Brown also played one U15 Division Two match this season with was against Beaudesert in May.

    One of the most impressive players in the GCRL U16 Division One competition this season was Currumbin hooker Brodie Desmond who was named 2019 GCRL U16 Division One player of the year.

    In addition to that award Brodie Desmond played in 16 matches for the Eagles (including finals) finishing with 92 points made up of 19 tries (competition leading) and eight goals.

    Brodie Desmond scored a Round Three hat trick against Mudgeeraba and added doubles against Southport twice, Runaway Bay, Coomera and Ormeau as well as tries in matches against Ormeau, Coomera, Runaway Bay, Helensvale, Burleigh and Coomera in Currumbin’s Preliminary Final loss.

    His biggest match with the boot came late in the season against Coomera when he kicked four goals, his other four goals came in separate matches.
