    Young former BBC school boy and Gold Coast White CC Cup representative stand out Conrad Green will start on the wing for the second week in a row for the Bilambil Jets GCRL First Grade side in their Round Eight Sunday match against Ormeau who are bolstered by the addition of former Ipswich junior rugby league star Maranatha (AJ) Raeli who will start the match in the second row.

    After playing the opening four rounds at lock for the Helensvale U16 Division One side Titans contracted Bordy Smitka has been named in the front row for their match tonight against Southport. Not bad at all for a 15 year old.

    After playing a number of matches for the Tweed Heads Seagulls Colts side after an outstanding MM Cup season for the Seagulls, Titans youngster Laz Sua has been named to start on the interchange bench for the Ormeau Shearers GCRL First Grade side in their Round Eight match on Sunday against Bilambil.

    Titans Rookie Squad members Kai O’Donnell (hooker), Api Noema-Matenga (second row) and Lochlyn Sheldon (lock) will all be starting their second match for the Burleigh GCRL First Grade side in Saturday’s Round Eight clash against Tweed Heads. Burleigh Colts Mikey Williams (wing) and Ben Valeni (interchange) are also involved with Ben Valeni making his debut in the GCRL First Grade competition and Mikey Williams will be making his third straight start.

    They will be up against fellow Titans Rookie Squad member Curtis Dansey-Smaller who will be starting on the wing for Tweed Heads for the second week in a row after making his debut in Round Seven.

    Titans Rookie Squad member Luke Maiden will be making his first Colts start of the season on Sunday for the Western Mustangs in their match against Ipswich in Round Fourteen of the Hastings Deering’s Cup when he starts in the front row.

    In his second season in the MM Cup with the Western Mustangs earlier this season Luke Maiden played in all six matches of the Western Mustangs matches and had a 50% try scoring strike rate. Luke Maiden scored in Rounds One, Five and Seven against Victoria, Sunshine Coast and South’s Logan respectively.

    His progression to the Western Mustangs Hastings Deering’s Colts side has seen Luke Maiden play in four matches to date, his fifth coming on Sunday. Luke Maiden came into the side in Round Eight against Tweed Heads when he started on the interchange bench. Luke Maiden has also started on the interchange bench in Rounds Ten, Eleven and thirteen against the Mackay Cutters South’s Logan and the Easts Tigers respectively.

    Luke Maiden has also played one match in the Toowoomba Rugby League U18 competition this season which was in Round One against Toowoomba Valleys where he started in the front row and scored in Southern Suburbs 26 – 8 victory. Team mates in the Southern Suburbs side that afternoon were fellow Titans linked players Leslie Hartvigsen, Connor Williams and Alex Dunneman and in the Toowoomba Valleys side was Chris Chambers.

    In 2017 after being part of the Western Mustangs MM Cup winning side early in 2017, Luke Maiden graduated to the Western Mustangs U20 Colts side where he started a number of matches in the front row after starting the MM Cup Grand Final at lock and being a key contributor to the 40 – 30 grand final victory over the South’s Logan Magpies and similarly in the U18 National final against Parramatta.

    With his two tries last weekend against South Grafton in Round Nine Titans contracted Grafton Ghosts second rower Ben Liyou has moved to the top of the Group two U18 try scoring list with six tries.

    To date in the competition Ben Liyou has played in seven matches, scoring the six tries and kicking two goals for a points tally on the season to date of 28. Ben Liyou scored a double in Round One against local rivals the South Grafton Rebels, also kicking his season’s two goals in the match. He also scored a double against the Rebels in a 33 – 12 Round Nine win noted above. Ben Liyou’s other two tries came against Bellingen in Round Five and in Round Six against the league leaders and previously undefeated Coffs harbour side.

    Ben Liyou also made his Group Two First Grade debut against Macksville earlier in the season when the 17 year old started in the centres.

    Titan and the Western Mustangs Jordan Crocker is making his 2018 Colts starting debut today in their match against Ipswich. In fact the Western Mustangs starting forward pack has five Titans in it and will be up against former Titans NYC player Blake Lenehan.

    Rising Tweed Heads Seagulls MM and PBC youngster Caleb Hodges will start on the bench for Bilambil today in their U17 Division One clash against Burleigh.

    Also on the bench for Bilambil is former Titans Development Squad member Josh Bevan who is currently in the last year of his two year Sydney Roosters deal.

    Congratulations to former Jimboomba Thunder and Gold Coast Vikings youngster Campbell Gray who has made an outstanding start to his career with Logan Brothers in the GBJRL U15 Premier Division competition where through the opening eight rounds is the equal leading try scorer.

    Former Titans Rookie Squad member Rhian Stowers has been absolutely outstanding since moving to rugby with the Bond University Colts I side a fortnight ago he scored four tries and this afternoon whilst playing No. 9 scored two and kicked two conversions as Bond were defeated 27-19 by GPS.

    All the best to the outstanding young talent no matter which code he chooses
