Great to see former Titans junior development squad member Hamish Ellem likely to be drafted by the Sydney Swans in the AFL Draft later this year from their Academy set-up. He was a talented rugby league and AFL player on the Grafton area, in the end choosing AFL. Good luck to the young man.

With Tweed Heads having a bye in the Queensland Cup in Round Twenty, Brent Woolf is set to start at hooker for Currumbin in their Round Eighteen GCRL First Grade match against Tugun.

With the Tweed Heads Seagulls Hastings Deering’s Colts side having a Round Twenty bye this weekend, two of their regulars will turn out for Currumbin in Round Eighteen of the GCRL First Grade competition on Sunday being Bayley Desmond who will play his third GCRL First Grade match and Cooper Hennessey who will play his second after making his debut last weekend in Round Seventeen.

The TSS U14A GPS school boy rugby side contains two Gold Coast Rugby League juniors being Keahn Skipps who will start at No. 10 and Jacob Sa who will start at outside centre for tomorrows Round Three match against Brisbane State High School.

Kyogle front rower Damian Wilson scored his 8th try of the Group One U16.5 season on Saturday scoring in Round 11 as his Kyogle side defeated South Grafton 24-16.
All eight of his tries have come in separate matches and he now sports an 80% strike rate.

Young 18 year old front rower Will McCullough has been one of the biggest improvers in the GCRL First Grade competition this season going from a talented youngster to a more than impressive starting front rower for Bilambil.
To date Will McCullough has played in eleven first grade matches this season starting the majority in the front row and will make it twelve when he lines up in the front row for Bilambil on Sunday in Round Eighteen against a Burleigh side who starting for the Bears is Titans contracted Tyler Szepanowski.

The Ormeau Shearers GCRL Round 18 First Grade side has a couple of U20 eligible players should not be overlooked when considering the extent of talented young players in the Titans catchment area. For the side to play Southport on the weekend, Leighman Hohaia Katene will start at half back in what will be his 9th First Grade match this season and Laz Sua will come off the bench in his third.

In Round 11 of the Group One U15 competition Kyogle and Ballina fought out a tight match with Kyogle prevailing 18-12. For the Turkeys Nathanial Ord maintained his 100% strike try scoring rate through eight games with his try.
In addition to eight tries this season he has also kicked 15 goals thus scoring 62 points to date.

Southport U18 Division One player Koia Katu-Roberts has been a great utility for his side and that continues in Round 13 on the weekend when he moves to half for their match against Mudgeeraba.

Codey McLaughlin is a sucker for punishment as is evidenced by the fact that instead of taking the weekend off with the Tweed Heads Colts side having a bye the young forward will come off the bench for Runaway Bay in their Round 16 GCRL U20 match against Helensvale.

Byron Bay second rower Malik Kelly-Torrens has busy once again in Round 16 of the NRRRL competition last weekend, he started the day kicking two goals in the Devils 20-16 win over Tweed Coast and then backed up to play his 5th First Grade match of the season that Byron Bay also won.

Casino RSM’s Laine Toohey scored a double on Saturday in Round 12 of the Group One U14 competition as Casino RSM defeated Lismore Marist Brothers 12-6.
With the double Laine Toohey has scored 14 tries in nine matches for a 156% strike rate.

Titans linked Jamal Laurie kicked two goals on Saturday being his first goals of the season in Round 11 for the South Grafton Rebels but unfortunately they went down 24-16 to Kyogle.

Outstanding second rower Kuyan Roberts-Laurie scored a double in Round 16 of the NRRRL U18 competition on Sunday for Byron Bay as they defeated Tweed Coast 20-16 and then backed up to play his 8th NRRRL First Grade match of the season with Byron Bay also coming out victors in that match as well.

The Burleigh U18 Division One forward pack (and entire team for that matter) has been outstanding and even though there are a couple of positional changes this weekend for their Round 13 match against Bilambil it is just as good.
The changes include Titans contracted George Etuale-Noa moving from the second row to the front row and Damon Somerville moving from the centres to the second row.
