Josiah Pahulu the powerful Ipswich youngster is currently a member of the 2019 Queensland U15 Emerging Origin Squad and was one of the standouts for the Titans U15 sides in their February 2019 matches against another Titans side and the Western Mustangs at the U15 level at Mudgeeraba where he started at lock.

In the match, Josiah Pahulu scored a barnstorming try against the other Titans side, taking the ball off the dummy half on the right side of the field and crashing over from around tem metres out. Josiah Pahulu made another powerful run of about thirty metres later in the day when he took a short pass inside his own twenty metre line and smashed his way to the half way line before being brought down.

Josiah Pahulu also had two try assists in his matches, both coming from off-loads close to the opponents try line, on each occasion the support player was able to score reasonably easily. The first pass was popped out around one a metre from the line with Josiah Pahulu engaged with three defenders and the second was when he got halfway through the line before offloading around ten metres out from the line.

In 2018 Josiah Pahulu played for Springfield Panthers Black in the Ipswich U14 competition playing in ten matches and scoring eight tries including a try in the Grand Final that his Springfield side was able to win 24 – 4 against Redbank Plains.

2018 also saw Josiah Pahulu represent Met West at the U14 level and from there he was selected in the South East Queensland U14 side for the Queensland Age Championships, where he played all four of their matches starting each in the front row.

In 2017 Josiah Pahulu represented the Ipswich Diggers at the U13 level.

Luke Jurd joins the Tweed Heads Seagulls Queensland Cup squad for the upcoming 2019 season after spending a number of seasons with the Cronulla Sharks.

In 2018, Luke Jurd played for the Cronulla Sharks U20 Jersey Flegg side, playing in every match that Cronulla were involved in being twenty matches including four finals matches, including starting the Grand Final that Cronulla won 22 – 12 against Penrith from the interchange bench.

Luke Jurd started Cronulla’s first twelve matches at five eight before moving to the interchange bench for Cronulla’s remaining twelve 2018 matches including their four finals matches.

Coming off the interchange bench, Luke Jurd played a variety of positions including the halves, hooker and even spent some time in the backrow for the Cronulla Sharks.

Luke Jurd scored two 2018 U20 Jersey Flegg tries, the first coming in Round Thirteen against the Canterbury Bulldogs and the second in Round Twenty Four against the Wests Tigers.

Late in 2018 Luke Jurd toured South Africa with the Australian Universities Rugby League side and scored in their first tour match against a West Province XIII side in Cape Town. Stanley Farani is a young Auckland outside back can play a number of positions including fullback, centre and wing and showcased that talent in both rugby and rugby league in 2018 at school boy, club and representative level in New Zealand.

Stanley Farani has moved over to Australia and started from the bench for the Burleigh Bears U20 Hastings Deering’s Colts side in their Langland’s park trial against the Easts Tigers last weekend, a match that the Bears won well.

Stanley Farani played in the 2018 Auckland rugby league competition for the Otahuhu Leopards and late in the season as a result of his play for the Leopards started on the wing for the Auckland U18 side in their match against U18 Auckland Niue.

For Auckland’s Pakuranga College Stanley Farani had a very good school boy career both in rugby, playing for the school’s First XV primarily at outside centre and rugby league including playing fullback for the school’s First XIII in their 18 – 8 2017 Auckland Rugby League Colleges Championship win against James Cook High School.

At last year’s Pakuranga College awards night, Stanley Farani received awards for both rugby and rugby league. In rugby Stanley Farani was the First XV Most Outstanding Player and Player of the Year awards and in rugby league received the Player of the Year award for the First XIII.

2018 also saw Stanley Farani represent Samoa at the U18 Pasifika Cup that was held in Auckland early in the year.

One player I anticipate who will have a big 2019 season is Braden Amundsen who will start on the wing today for the Burleigh Colts side in their trail against Tweed Heads.

Titans linked Jayden Campbell (Preston's son) will start at fullback today for the Burleigh Colts side in their trail against local rivals Tweed Heads.

The Helensvale Hornets youngster is just a natural rugby League player just like his father, but he does have a touch more size than his dad.

Titan Tyler Szepanowski starts his 2019 season off today starting in the front row for the Burleigh Colts side in their trial against Tweed Heads.

The young front rower should also get more opportunities in the Burleigh GCRL First Grade side as the 2019 season progresses.

Powerful Titans contracted front rower Luke Maiden starts this afternoon for the Burleigh Colts side in their trial match against Tweed Heads. It would not surprise however if he finishes the season for the Burleigh Queensland Cup side such is his potential.
