    Burleigh hooker Zac McCormick continued his outstanding form on the weekend in Round 12 of the GCRL U20 competition scoring a double as Burleigh defeated Runaway Bay 50-28. His first try was a result of a run out of dummy half to his right, after running a few steps Zac McCormack threw a big dummy and then stepped off his right foot to dive over.

    In relation to his second try, Zac McCormack threw a great pass out of dummy half to his left to send his centre through a gap and then backed up on the inside to get the ball back to score midway between the goal posts and the left corner post.

    Zac McCormack will be back in the Burleigh Hastings Deering Colts side this weekend for Round 15 against Ipswich starting from the bench.

    Clarence Coast’s Group One U15 player Levi Cavanough scored a double and kicked three conversions as the Magpies defeated Casino RSM in Round 7 on Saturday.

    In his eight matches this season he has already amassed 50 points from eight tries and nine goals.

    Grafton Ghosts U14 Group One’s Jye Boehme continued his 2019 trend of scoring in every match that he has played in when he scored in Round Seven for the Ghosts in their 12-10 loss to Casino Rsm.

    Through his six matches he has now scored 62 points from 13 tries and five goals.

    Cameron Brown took advantage of the Hastings Deering’s Colts bye week to line up at five eight for Helensvale in Round 12 of the GCRL U20 competition, scoring two tries as the Hornets went down 30-22 to Currumbin.

    Both tries highlighted Cameron Brown’s ability to run the ball and he also had a try assist when he put Brent Barnes through ha gap on the right side of the field.

    Cameron Brown will be back in the Burleigh Hastings Deering Colts side this weekend for Round 15 starting at half against Ipswich.

    Outstanding South Grafton Rebel Isaac Barker scored a hat trick in Round Seven of the Group One U14 competition las tSaturday as the Rebels defeated Lismore Marist Brothers 34-4.

    The hat means that from four matches this season Isaac Barker has scored 11 tries.

    Runaway Bay hooker Repoama Morris-Ponga scored yet again in Round 12 of the GCRL U20 competition on Saturday but could not prevent Runaway Bay going down 50-28. After a quick play the ball, he darted out of dummy half to his right to score.

    After that match, Repoama Morris-Ponga made his Doug Lipp Cup debut when he came off the bench against Bilambil.

    Powerful front rower Codey McLaughlin could have taken advantage of the Hastings Deering’s Colts bye week to have a break but instead he chose to play for Runaway Bay against Burleigh in Round Twelve of the GCRL U20 competition starting in the front row and making it two tries from as many matches when he scored out wide on the left side of the field untouched after some good work inside of him.

    Codey McLaughlin will be back in the Tweed Hastings Deering Colts side this weekend for Round 15 starting from the bench against the Townsville Blackhawks.

    After scoring six tries across two competitions last weekend, Helensvale’s Brent Barnes was at it again on the weekend, starting in the centres and scoring in Round Nine of the U18 Division One competition against Ormeau, in Round 12 of the GCRL U20 competition against Currumbin and in his Doug Lipp Cup debut also against Currumbin.

    Brent Barnes U20 try was a result of him running a good straight hard line from right centre and he was provided a great pass from Cameron Brown. His debut Doug Lipp try came when he found space down the right touchline line and beat the fullback with a good in and away.

    After playing in the U14 match earlier in the night Titans linked young front rower Larry Siala made his Ipswich Rugby League U15 debut in Round Nine and celebrated the occasion by scoring as Norths Blue defeated Swifts Bluebirds 58-8.

    Titans contracted Orlando Swain scored his 6th try of the season in Round Nine of the Ipswich Rugby League U16 competition last Friday night for Norths and they defeated West End 38-16.

    Mate do you think he is a chance for an u20s queensland spot , he was there in u16s or do you think maybe Turnbull will edge him out , or someone else even, probably a bronco no doubt
