TWEED Heads confirmed it is once again a genuine Intrust Super Cup contender after dismantling premiership leader Wynnum-Manly 30-16 at Kougari Oval today.

Tweed withstood a barrage of Wynnum-Manly possession in the opening exchanges and managed to shoot out to a 24-0 lead at half-time.

The Ben Anderson-coached side stretched its lead to 30-0 in the second half before allowing their opposition to post three consolation tries.

Anderson said it was one of the Seagulls' best wins of the season given they couldn't train on Friday and had the match moved from Piggabeen to Wynnum.

Titans-contracted players Ryan James, Michael Henderson and Joe Vickery scored tries while James Wood and Jake Leary also crossed in the 14-point win.

While Tweed cemented itself in the top six, Burleigh's finals chances copped another blow as they fell 36-12 to Norths.

After winning two straight games, the Bears were dominated by the Devils who ran in six tries.

Tweed hosts Norths next Sunday while Burleigh has a tough trip to Dolphin Oval to face second-placed Redcliffe.
