    Beau benched with bicep tear

The Jetstar Gold Coast Titans win over the Brisbane Broncos was bitter sweet for new recruit Beau Falloon after he suffered a torn bicep in the opening 15 minutes of the trial match at Pizzey Park on Saturday night.

The 23-year-old hooker had impressed Coach John Cartwright throughout the pre-season since joining the club from South Sydney at the end of last year but now faces several months on the sidelines.

He is expected to undergo further scans this week to determine the full extent of the injury.

“I am shattered for Beau, the fifteen minutes he had, he really controlled the play the ball and defensively he is as strong as any hooker in the competition,” said Cartwright.

“He has done a bicep and it doesn’t look good, he will probably get operated on hopefully next week without pre-empting anything but the doctor more or less said he has torn the bicep and (Jacob) Lillyman did it last week and they were saying three months.”

Falloon was taken from the field just shy of the 15 minute mark after clutching at his right arm in a tackle.

Winger Kevin Gordon also added to the club’s injury concerns as he was taken from the field during the first half with knee soreness.

However, in a positive, scans taken on Monday revealed he has sustained no serious damage to the knee he had reconstructed last season.

Good news for KG, shattering for FALLOON. He looked fantastic in the trial against the Bronc's.

Great for depth to have him in the wings ready to bounce back. Hopefully he will be back to his best around finals time.

Damn, that isn't good news at all. Though my sentiments exactly, hammer.

Here's to a speedy recovery, Meady.

He has 2 metal plates in his jaw for life, its closer to 8 weeks than 6. I wanna see the tackle that did it cause i have a sneaky suspicion it was waddell that hit him high.

Kev, Dave and Ryan should all be back firing by round 10
