In 2011 Preston Campbell retires from the game. His legacy on the field was 267 games, a Grand Final win with the Panthers in 2003, a Dally M Medal in 2001 and captain of the inaugural Indigenous All Stars team in 2010. He was also the first ever player to be signed to the Gold Coast Titans club.
His dedication to the community programs off the field was unrivalled in Rugby League and his passion for his people and his commitment to improve the lives of Australian indigenous youth has elevated his status as one of the most influential influential indigenous Australians. He was awarded the Ken Stephen Medal in 2009 for his contribution to community.
It is in this area of indigenous community program delivery that Preston will dedicate his time, post Rugby League and he is certain to make a real difference.
On Thursday February 2, the National Rugby League together with the Jetstar Gold Coast Titans, will present the Preston Campbell Testimonial Dinner as the key event in the Harvey Norman Rugby League All Stars week long celebration.
All funds raised from the dinner will be invested in Preston?s preferred community and charity programs, with an emphasis on his school to work transition program in his home town of Tingha.
To add further prestige to this event, both the Indigenous All Stars and the NRL All Stars teams will be in attendance.
Guests will enjoy a full night of entertainment. To join Preston and friends for this special occasion, please contact Robyn Eid at events@titans.com.au or on (07) 5656 5650. To download the event Booking Form, please click here.
