Dose anyone have an idea when they (world cup/RLIF) will release the fixtures and the venues where they will be playing at. *I know they have release the venues of where games will be hold*

I actually heard that they will be making venue announcements in the next couple weeks. I hope they get the balance right but also take games to Wembley and France and Wales.

RLWC2013 pulls out of Whitehaven

Rugby League World Cup 2013 have announced today that the Scotland v Tonga and Scotland v Italy matches will no longer take place in Whitehaven.

As a result of decisions taken by their consortium partners, Copeland Borough Council are no longer able to guarantee the building of Pow Beck Stadium within the timeframe required by the tournament.

Sally Bolton RLWC2013 General Manager said ?When selecting Copeland as a host RLWC2013?s selection committee were very supportive of the idea of building a new stadium in Whitehaven as a way of growing the game in West Cumbria.

?The fact that Copeland Borough Council's partners are no longer able to deliver that is disappointing as the area will not benefit from being part of RLWC2013, the biggest sporting event in the UK to take place after London 2012.

?As the Copeland bid was predicated on the building of a new stadium our strategy always included a robust contingency plan, which has now been put into place and we will announce the replacement venues shortly."

Italy will be a strong team and a dark horse.

It's just a shame that the domestic league is split into two with one rebel league. Just like USA. That has to end.

I'm really hoping the World Cup can be really huge for Italt and the USA. Would be so much bigge for those countries if there weren't splits though.

Kiwis preparing for Rugby League World Cup

With an eye to the Rugby League World Cup, a Kiwis training squad will assemble in Sydney this weekend for a two-day training camp.

30 players have been invited to attend the first gathering of the year.

NZRL general manager of high performance Tony Kemp says it's a big year for rugby league and big year for the Kiwis and the camp allows them to set the bar for 2013.

At the camp, the players will be involved in sessions looking at sports science, leadership, mental skills and medical elements.

Kiwis coach Stephen Kearney and his assistant Tony Iro will also run game-specific clinics.

After enjoying the Anzac Test on Friday I am now crunching the numbers and dates to see if I can get there for the World Cup.

Maybe get there for the 1/4s - Final. A month is a bit too much of an ask.
