Can we run a book on what team Carty puts up? I'll bet all the tea in China :-) that the backline and the bench won't look like the above although I really do like the look of it.

I think he'll start Douglas, bench Minichiello and replace James because he will still be recovering with Rankin. Question marks over Henry and Gordon fitness-wise and I feel he'd go with Rankin for Henry and Graham for Gordon if needed bringing Falloon on to the bench.

I feel like Carty will play Nate Myles as a front rower. Not sure abt Ranko for 5/8 even if Beau Henry is fit. He might go with Sezer. He will definitely play Matt White because he loves him. Carty might start with Mini because of his experience even though Mini will be a much better impact player then he would be at starting.

Deadset.. Myles played a few games at front row for about 20 min for the roosters.. this does not make his a suitable candidate for the front row... not only that its a waste of money if he suits up mainly for the front row..

I reckon carty will go with something like this..

Urgh....

It's a really good team that you guys have put together. I didn't look at any of the individual threads but I like the look of the entire squad. I personally wouldn't have Kayne Lawton in the team but off the top of my head I couldn't think of anybody better.

It's obviously impossible that that team will line up in Rd 1 because all of the indications are that James won't be fit - but there is no reason why that team can't line up in our home final next Spetember!!

So far it looks as though everybody has gone with the big name players. We did this last year and suffered horribly, The team that has been selected on the forum looks fantastic on paper. Unfortunately paper teams tend not to perform and wont reflect what actually turns up on the day. Carty will go by trial form and all spots are up for grabs. For if he doesnt, we will have poeple that have on this site baying for his blood. He wants results and will be going for results not what keeps this forum happy.

I can't see Sezer, Lawton, Falloon or Henry getting a spot over Rankin - whether it be for 5/8 or bench utility. I reckon Rankin will get 1st shot at 5/8 if Zillman goes back to fullback, and the last spot on the bench will be chosen on a game by game basis.

I would guess that said results, if positive, would keep this Forum happy and I would further venture that the constant speculation is because of the lack of positive results last season.
